Everything We Keep
Everything We Keep | Kerry Lonsdale
Sous chef Aimee Tierney has the perfect recipe for the perfect life: marry her childhood sweetheart, raise a family, and buy out her parents restaurant. But when her fiance, James Donato, vanishes in a boating accident, her well-baked future is swept out to sea. Instead of walking down the aisle on their wedding day, Aimee is at James s funeral a funeral that leaves her more unsettled than at peace.
As Aimee struggles to reconstruct her life, she delves deeper into James s disappearance. What she uncovers is an ocean of secrets that make her question everything about the life they built together. And just below the surface is a truth that may set Aimee free or shatter her forever.
A luminous debut with unexpected twists, "Everything We Keep" explores the devastation of loss, the euphoria of finding love again, and the pulse-racing repercussions of discovering the truth about the ones we hold dear and the lengths they will go to protect us."

A simple, convenient and predictable storyline with barely fleshed out characters and cheesy dialogue which somewhat redeemed itself with its ending. I read the second book in this series directly following this first book which slightly increased the enjoyment. Maybe it would have made for a more solid story if the contents of the two books had been combined. Thankfully, it was a fairly short, fast read. ⭐️⭐️ #reviewathon #netgalley

Aimee‘s fiancé James has gone missing after a boating accident. Everyone is encouraging Aimee to move on, but something tells her James is still out there.

I know I would be just like Aimee, determiner to find the truth, and I loved the ending of this first installment in the trilogy - unpredictable yet realistic! The best type of ending in my opinion!

This was an easy read, had great characters. Aimee was very likable, which always helps!

When I choose to try audiobooks, Kerry Lonsdale's Everything We Keep was at the top of my list, but I've chosen the Italian version this time, and I think the narrator has done a sterling job in delivering Aimee and James' story. This is a novel about love, loss, secrets, and second chances. I was hooked from the first pages, and I loved the author's attention to details while describing fragments' of Aimee memories that introduce the characters.❤

Finished this one up while making dinner tonight! I am excited that this series has three books, because I cannot wait to hear what happens next! There were some unbelievable parts of this book, but overall it was an interesting read with lots of twists. I love that the epilogue answered some questions from earlier in the book, and got you excited for the second one.

This book was...meh. The plot was interesting enough to keep me going, and it was a quick and easy read. The plot was kind of predictable, though, and the writing was mediocre. I give it 3 out of 5 stars, only because it managed to at least hold my interest. I got book 3 for free on NetGalley, so I will more than likely continue with the series.

4⭐️. It was supposed to be her wedding day. Instead Aimee was burying her fiancé, the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart. I read this book in one day. I was immediately engaged & engrossed. The storyline was fairly original and it kept my interest.
I was surprised by the ending but really liked it. It was the right ending for this book. More here... https://lharvey250.tumblr.com/post/159113675119/everything-we-keep-kerry-lonsdal...

I grabbed a copy to the sequel of this book thinking it was the sequel to a totally different book and find that this book had been sitting on my Kindle for ages even though I have no recollection of buying it. I don't think this is something I would usually pick up but it made for a great palette cleanser. The mystery was predictable but I was absorbed. Glad I have the sequel ready to go.

This was pretty good. My first book by this author. Felt like a mixture of women's fiction and romantic suspense. The first half was a slower build as Aimee deals with her grief and rebuilding her life. The second half picked up with a faster pace, some light-fare suspense, and big twists.

Now that I've gotten to the end, I've decided that the sequel will be my next book. I'm pretty curious about the "what's next" for these characters.

🍭🍭🍭🍭Aimee was a bit of a struggle for me. I did not have the expected connection with her. She was more of a blah character. However, I was completely caught up in the mystery of James‘ disappearance and kudos to the author for several unexpected plot twists and turns. This really kept me reading and enjoying till the very last page! Full review https://reecaspieces.com/2017/07/15/everything-we-keep-by-kerry-lonsdale/

A quick read and a nice palate-cleanser.

What started as a "no guilty parties" mystery love triangle ended up with a few twists and flashbacks that revealed just how many shades of grey there can be between people.

I received this book and its sequel from NetGalley. I would read the next book even if I didn't have an ARC. While It wasn't a great book, I liked it enough to want to find out what happens next.

This turn of phrase is getting on my nerves and I'm not quite halfway through the book.

The author is also way too fond of her characters ducking their heads to hide their blushing. 🙄

PatriciaU My pet peeve phrase/repetitive action is chewing the inside of the cheek or biting the lip. In one book I read recently, the main character did both of those things so much she should have had a bloody pulpy mouth by the end of the book! 7y

Picked this one up randomly on Kindle Unlimited. Opens with Aimee at the church on her wedding day. Only instead of her fiancé standing at the altar, he's in a coffin. Now she's reeling from his sudden death and other losses in her life, unsure of where to go now. And some things aren't adding up for her. I'm definitely going to keep reading!

I just couldn't really get into this book. It felt rather shallow to me; like there just wasn't a lot of substance to the story or characters, although Lonsdale definitely made an attempt. I listened to this on Audible on a long drive to escape a hurricane, and while I didn't love it (and I had to keep rewinding as my mind wandered), it did help pass the time. A good read if you're looking for something you won't get overly invested in.
