These are my current go-to books to read before the floor opens at conventions. They're short, relatively cozy, and move slow enough that I don't get mad when I have to turn off my kindle. Has anyone else read this series?

An excellent sequel, more world building and the start of a nice romance. I really wish there were more books in the series.
Dina has been asked by a respected galactic peace keeping organization to host peace talks between Vampires, the Horde, and the Merchants. Saying no is the smart move, but saying yes means her Inn will receive money, sustenance, and reputation, all of which she needs. Can she make peace or will this destroy her and the Inn
Even more fun than the first one. Dina really showed her strength in this one, and the I enjoyed the plot of the peace summit.
When you read do you picture what‘s happening in your head? Or picture the setting in your head? I never do, but I‘m appreciating these pictures included in the ebook of this series. They are so well done!
Y‘all, I‘m struggling today. We‘re in the middle of a major, ongoing snowfall. It‘s cold. The sidewalks are impassable again. I can‘t comfortably spend time outside, and even when this dump melts, everything‘s gonna be flooded out.
Winter is the season that destroys my mental health and I need it to END already.
This cool book‘s been a small comfort today. And the characters drink lots of tea, which inspired me to brew a pot for myself.
Today‘s attempt to prevent myself from stress-starving. The iceberg wedge was mighty good, but I didn‘t manage to read very much while I ate it. Sigh. Hopefully I‘ll get a bit further when I hop on my stationary bike for some exercise.
I had such a great time with CLEAN SWEEP that I dove straight into SWEEP IN PEACE. This series is so much fun! Andrews really leans into the How Stuff Works side of things with this one, too. Y‘all know that‘s my jam.
Two things:
SiP overlaps slightly with the Edge books. While you don‘t NEED to have read that series to understand this, I wish I could remember the characters better.
I‘m a bit sad the omnibus edition only has b&w illustrations.
I liked this 2nd book in the series even better than the first. It went into more depth about the different types of creatures and complex diplomacy involved in dealing with them. An alien peace summit hosted by a magical innkeeper that is fraught with complications. The alien's personalities were impressively fleshed out. This is escapism at it's finest.
Closing the first night of the #24B4Monday #readathon with about 4 hours. Having a terrible time concentrating. I am enjoying these alien diplomatic peace talks being hosted at a magic inn on Earth, because they have nothing to do with anything. @SumisBooks @Andrew65 @jb72
Now I know where I am in the Innkeeper Chronicles!
Dina reluctantly agrees to host an impossible peace summit, but nothing is as it seems. Loving this series from the great Ilona Andrews, and eager to dive into number three, now that I am back on track.
This feels like a lesson we‘re still learning, the danger in fighting “true believers.”
Emergency run to the library today for the tagged book. Returned all the books I finished during the readathon plus everything the kiddo has finished since Thursday (31 books! And she didn‘t even read anything this weekend). Then of course we checked out half the kids‘ department...between her card and mine we‘re making good use of our library!
Well, dammit! I was all set to move on to book 2 of the Innkeeper Chronicles, but it wasn‘t making any sense. Because I don‘t have book 2, I have book 3. On to something else for now, I guess, and hope the library has book 2.
Plugging away at #24B4Monday though.

I love this series, so much fun. Also: new phone! The camera is ❤️ #urbanfantasy
I bought Clean Sweep a couple years ago and finally read it. Liked it and decided to read Sweep in Peace. Dina, the innkeeper, has to keep the peace between the Otrakars, vampires, and Clan Nuan. Meanwhile Officer Marais is staking out the inn, Sean is missing, and she needs a chef who can feed intergalactic guests on a tight budget. Plus, she‘s still trying to find her parents, who went missing years ago. Fun, imaginative read. On to book three!
Loved it! Stayed up late, chuckling past my bed time.
The second book in the awesome, entertaining Innkeeper Chronicles.
Part two of the Innkeeper Chronicles. More magic and drama and romantic intrigue.
Ilona Andrews is one of my favorite author discoveries this year. This installment in the Innkeeper series is even better than the first - it's a fast, fun yet nevertheless emotionally engaging fantasy jaunt. Loveable characters, twisty plot and the space-fantasy never gets annoyingly bogged down in details. I loved it.
NOT the captioned book but for any Ilona Andrews fans; they‘re serializing Arland and Maud‘s book on the Innkeeper website. Chapters are generally released every Friday. I‘m constitutionally ill-suited to serial reading and the enforced waiting is driving me insane but it‘s shaping up to be a very, very good book. 😊😊😊😊 It‘s all on the site at the moment but they‘ll take it down as soon as it‘s finished to prep for publishing so.. run!! 😊😊😊
Innkeeper book 2. Just as fun, fast paced and action-filled as book 1. Love it!
Talking of repairing a car engine from the perspective of a vampire who does not live on Earth: "It poisons the environment, it's horribly inefficient, and it runs on fossil fuels. It requires a finite, high-pollutant resource to function. What idiot would build an engine based on a non-renewable resource?"
Well, that really struck a cord. Answer: currently, an idiot who makes a lot of money from said resource or who has friends who do.
Attack #catsoflitsy. She's going after the bug shadow on the wall, ignoring the actual bug on the lampshade next to her.
I've been mildly book slumping lately. My brain just can't. I'm hoping Ilona Andrews can help!
According to Amazon I bought this December 2015. I'm not sure why I haven't read it yet because I thoroughly enjoyed the first one.
The first book was a bit boring, but this one had much more at stake.
I have yet to read something by Ilona Andrews that I didn't love... This was very different than Clean Sweep, but just as enjoyable!
4.5/5 Stars
I enjoyed the hell out of this book. It had the action and suspense and the hint of romance that I've come to expect from this writing duo. It sucked me in and didn't let me go. Because I need to know what happens next, it has convinced me to read the installment in serial form.
So much love for this book! Also, I found out that the next book is being posted chapter by chapter on the authors website as a weekly serial🙏🏻😬
