A continuing of the Cainsville series. It has spooky feel to it as it deals with visions the main character gets thrown into. It's about fairies and the hunt. It had 189 words on the #Scarathlon2022 Word Search. It is one of my TBR list for #TeamMonsterMash. @StayCurious and #Spookaween2022 @Catsandbooks
“I‘d like to see the ocean.”
“You‘ve never…? Okay, first step, where have you traveled? I know you don‘t own a passport.”
“I have visited neighboring states on business.” He paused. “Nothing more.”
“So, the ocean,” I continued as quickly as I could, covering my surprise. “Sandy beaches or rocky surf?”
“Am I correct that sand attracts people?” he said. “Crowds of people?”
“Rocky #surf it is."

Lazy Sunday 😌 A good book in my hand and a cute cat on my tummy... I'm not getting up anytime soon lol #catsoflitsy
“‘What‘s their purpose?‘ I asked as I stood.
‘Children? No idea. It appears to be simply an inconvenient stage between birth and usefulness.‘”
“TC may not be the cuddliest cat in the world, but he watches out for me and he‘s not evil. Or no more evil than the average feline.”
Another solid Cainsville installment. I felt like some of the relationship stuff was kind of forced, to serve the bigger picture, and it was sort of abrupt. Overall not quite as strong as the previous books. I‘m still really enjoying the series and looking forward to the next one.
This made me 😄 😆😂 I have to wonder if this conversation is based on the kinds of comments the author has heard from fans 🤔 #Comedy #QuotsyFeb19
Stayed at my aunt's cottage in marmora, and enjoyed this view from my hammock while reading most of this book. I'm a sucker for love triangles and men that are slightly moody & stubborn (well, just in books). #teamGabriel
"...and yes, he did feel a small twinge of guilt, but it was a very small twinge, and really only because it was not quite sportsmanlike to compete against someone who didn't realize there was a #competition." #QuotsyJune18
"Is this...your book?"
"One of them. It's signed to Liv, but you can scratch that out and write in your name. Oh, and if you can leave a five-star review on Goodreads, I'd appreciate it."
? I get such a kick out of all the scenes about Patrick & his books. #paperback #QuotsyJune18 #paperbackwriter #HeyJune
Had a fun day #bookshopping with a friend! Hit the #usedbookstores first, then #Indigo so we could use our gift cards. I was excited to find the Dying Earth omnibus & several L.M. Montgomery books I haven't read yet. Also was intrigued by this copy of Noman's Land with what seems to be a publisher's letter from 1985 asking for reviews! I found Betrayals, but Rituals wasn't available so I picked up Ready Player One & some bookmarks. #BookHaul
It's been awhile since I've read a series where I couldn't wait to start the next book. I burned through the first three books so fast that I had to borrow the fourth from the library as an e-book this morning because I couldn't wait until I got my hands on a physical copy! Tomorrow I'll be hitting the bookstore! #MostAnticipated #ReadingResolutions (cover images from Goodreads)
I like this series, which I‘ve described as “paranormal light.” There are fantastical characters and ancient legends but also a mystery and a hot relationship. I am *not* in love with the 🎧 audiobooks, so I‘m not sure why I keep listening instead of reading. I‘m giving this book a pick — it‘s basically a 3.5
Another book haul this weekend. I really need to slow down the book buying and actually start reading them!
Just finished the 4th book in the Cainsville Series and I liked it. The whole love triangle is definitely more at the centre of this one, and while I liked that, I'll be happy when it's (hopefully) resolved in the next (and last) book of the series.
Jut starting this, along with a bowl of spicy, peanut noodle soup! Can't wait to dig into both!
Burning the midnight oil. Not going to bed until I finish this book! I have Brie and brandy to sustain me. #GuiltyPleasures
Another enjoyable visit to Cainsville. The perfect escapist fiction after a long week. I love all the characters and their intertwining relationships. I also appreciate the fact that the author is pretty good at recapping the events from the previous books. Looking forward to the next in the series, especially after the way that this one ended!
I know I've read other books #setinasmalltown, but Cainsville was the first one to come to mind
Betrayals wasn't my favorite - it was largely focused on the relationship between the three main characters & I already guessed at what was going to happen and just wanted everything sorted out already - but I am still excited to read the last one in the series #photoadaynov16
My #allhallowsread is the newest book in Kelley Armstrong's #CainsvilleSeries. BETRAYALS is just as hauntingly awesome as the previous instalments in the series. I love Kelley's writing style, and humour.
A lazy Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to take a break. For me that means no reading.
📚
Hope you're having a good weekend.
😁
More, more, more I would say to Kelley Armstrong! Love the Cainsville series; full of mystery, passion, betrayals, magic and love! so freaking good.
This twisted story of Omens, Visions, and Fae just gets better and better with each book. I can't wait to see how it all ends with the last installment coming out next year!
And I'm done! This one was a lot more focused on character/relationship/friendship growth than the previous three, but it was still enjoyable and worked well with the overall plot. However, with an ending like that, it's going to be a long year before the next one comes out. 😩
Absolutely loved this.... But that ending... 💖 Full review on Goodreads 😊
This book was a huge disappointment for me. It's probably not completely the books fault, I read it in the few days after coming home from having a stillbirth. I was wanting escape and I suppose it delivered in that area.
But I just feel like the essence of the first three novels was not in Betrayals.
32% in and I actually held my breath.... OMG!!! 😳
This is a supernatural book. If you read her City of the Lost (not supernatural), you'll notice almost identical themes and resolutions (likewise with her Otherworld series). I really like this author, but all of her books end the same way or are super similar. Very familiar and comfortable. I recommend this series but don't expect to be blown away.
just found out I have forty bucks worth of credit at Barnes and Noble. yay new book!
Funny Litsy tells me today is #internationalcatday and I just happen to be reading this collection of short stories the author was kind enough to be giving away for free to anyone who pre-ordered the next book in her Cainsville series, which is being released tomorrow, and in an odd twist has a dog on the cover. It's a great series and I do so love authors who give little bonuses to their fans. 😼
I'd say that 90% of this book was about expanding and the repairing the relationship between Gabriel & Olivia. I think we can all see where this is going - I'm sure it's not just wishful thinking on my part! The other 10% of this book was about a case involving lamiae. While I love the relationship aspect of the story, I think a little more time could have been spent on the main case. I look forward to the next book, - a whole year away!
Soooooo happy to see this in my mailbox today. Thank you @PenguinRandomCa . Can't wait to see where the story goes
Advanced copy from the Goodreads giveaway just arrived today. So excited to read this!
