From school mishaps to family struggles, Ramona faces it all with determination, creativity, and a bit of mischief. This heartwarming story captures the joys and trials of childhood, offering timeless lessons about family, responsibility, and staying true to yourself.
This is a delightful and timeless story about the challenges of growing up. Ramona faces new responsibilities, like riding the school bus alone and being good for her babysitter, while dealing with her parents‘ busy schedules. With her spirited personality, Ramona‘s adventures are both relatable and funny. I found this book to be a fun read with a great storyline, perfect for kids who enjoy heartwarming and humorous tales.

For Ramona Quimby, Age 8, create a lesson on responsibility and growing up. Start with a discussion about how Ramona handles new challenges, like riding the bus and helping her family. Have students reflect on their own responsibilities and how they feel about growing up. As an activity, students can create a “Responsibility Chart“ to track their tasks at home or school, teaching them about accountability and independence.

They bring back such happy memories. ❤️

The Ramona books were the first ones I remember loving. These are the books that made me a reader, so my #TeacherAppreciation is for Mrs. Spence, my first grade teacher who introduced these to me.

Prompt: Parents Day
My grand daughters loved this series. The parents are lovely.
I somehow missed that she passed away the other day...
But wow, 104, what a life!
I found out last night that one of my favourite authors since childhood died recently. Her books were a refuge in my childhood. Thank goodness she was such a prolific author, because she gave me many worlds in which to live, as well as stories that will forever live in me. You are missed, but always remembered, Beverly Cleary.
Take me back to elementary school...where every afternoon I was transported to Klickirat Street...sprawled on the lawn getting to know my new friend Ramona (and all her thoughts, worries, and laughs).
Just saw on Instagram that Beverly Cleary died this week. I remember the Ramona books as a part of my earliest reading. Grateful for her, and her author.
Such fond memories of watching the PBS adaptation of this book with Sarah Polley as Ramona when I was 6 or 7. Poor Ramona, her parents are becoming more harried as her father goes back to college and works. Plus Ramona lives out every kid‘s fear - throwing up in class! Not to mention the new school and having to cook dinner with Beezus after they complained about being served tongue. Phew! Third grade is hard!
I wish my headache would go away! 😩
🍂 I love all of the Ramona books, but this is one of my favorites.
🍁No specifics, but I plan to fill a #bookspinbingo card. So 20-25 on the wishlist, probably 10-15 in reality. I might still have spookies left from October.
🥘 Spanish chicken and rice, plus a veggie from our CSA share.
🍃 Counterintuitive, but Steel Magnolias. It gives me a good cry and then I feel better.

Ramona Quimby, Age 8 is a great read for young readers. This book is about a 3rd grade girl who is starting a new year at a new school, while also dealing with issues at home. She learns to navigate through third grade with many bumps along the way! An activity that would work great with this book would be making a graphic organizer about making connection in the story like Text-to-Text, Text-to-Self, etc. #UCFLAE3414SP20

“He was dressed as if everything he wore cane from different stores or a rummage sale, except that the crease in his trousers was sharp and his shoes were shined.”
I read this as a kid and loved it. It‘s such a fun and entertaining book for second or third grade readers.
This book is relatable to most students who are reaching the age to read chapter books. The language is fun and the plot is exciting. The characters are entertaining.
Ramona has always been my favorite... but I was just looking at this book cover and I‘m pretty sure I might *actually be* Ramona. 😂🤣😂.
Happy D.E.A.R. Day! Ramona Quimby Age 8 was my favorite book growing up!

“Life as a third grader is tough.” Finished another gem with my daughter. We both love BC and Ramona! Book 17 of 2019
She liked feeling tall in her new school she likes or was pretty sure she liked her non-fussy teacher.
True students in my class could easily find this story humorous and relatable to their daily life and school days.
Ramona Quincy, Age 8 by Beverly Cleary is a realistic fiction book that was published in 1981. Ramona is starting the third grade and she is very excited. She had a new friend named Yard Ape. She has to go to the Kemp‘s house after school and she does not like being nice to little Willa Jean. Ramona one day had thrown up in class and she felt as if her days couldn‘t get any worse than they already were.
This is the most relevant quote because my mother and I fight a ton and her emotions about wanting to mend the wounds and solve the problems after are how I usually feel too
I loved this book as a kid!! It brought back such memories of my childhood and made me think about my third grade years!! Such a fun relatable book that helped me when I was struggling in school!
Published in 2009, this book is about a girl who faces the many challenges of third grade. It is a relatable fun, light hearted chapter book that opens children up to understanding the character and her feelings. I‘d say the main character is convincing and credible to today‘s children and this can help the reader relate to the characters personalities and struggles.
This is a book about Ramona‘s experiences as she faces challenges in third grade.
Hanging out with my girls reading something short after finishing A Secret History. Which I pulled a late night to finish yesterday.

I‘ve already finished one book and if I get my butt in gear, I may be able to finish a second one tonight. So far, so good!
