Grace has always watched the wolves from her window. There is one yellow eyed wolf whose presence she cannot seem to live without.
Sam leads two lives: in summer - a few precious months as a human and in winter the frozen of woods.
A achingly sad story that was beautifully written with a focus on Grace and Sam‘s blossoming yet tragic relationship
Great characters with an abrupt end and as a result it made me want to get hold of the next book!

My daughter has just finished reading this so it‘s finally my turn! #wolfgirl

I went into this thinking it was a retelling of Little Red Riding; it is not, and once I started reading it, I was afraid I would hate it since teen loving werewolf romance isn't typically my thing, but it was a nice lighthearted story to listen to while doing chores.

I enjoyed The Raven Cycle books by Stiefvater, but this book was an absolute bail by 15%. It had all the qualities of YA lit that I hated as a teen, the same qualities that made me avoid Twilight. If you like werewolves and romance and don't mind teen drama that makes no sense, horrible friends that are supposed to be childhood best friends (???), weird responses, unexplained obsessive attraction, and awkward descriptions, pick this one!

I didn‘t know anything about this book when I picked it up. It was ok; seemed to be jumping on the popularity of Twilight with the werewolf theme.

Just finished this whole series (The Wolves of Mercy Falls). Great escape from the pandemic. Love her writing. A little dated with the werewolf thing, but a healthier read than Twilight. Bonus: it was set in a fictional version of my hometown in N Minnesota! Since I am also reading a book about wolves that takes place in my hometown, that was really trippy!

I would definitely recommend Shiver to anyone who loves a romantic werewolf style novel. Maggie Stiefvater does an excellent job in using the different senses to pull in your attention. Shiver includes a lot of aspects of a real and fantasy romance between the characters, which I absolutely love. Maggie's take on werewolves is different than most, but I would certainly say that it's better. @MrsBabki

I usually don't read fantasy but i enjoy weird vamipre/wearwolves stories such as this one. It had my attention on it the entire time and even tho it is one of "trashy" cringe bad romance stories, it still is a good guilty pleasure book. With this one i wrap up my January reads.

Shiver is an easy read that will pull your heartstrings as Grace and Sam fight against time to stay together. It is a typical young adult romance, but it isn‘t overly dramatic. The fantasy elements blend seamlessly with the overall storyline and create a breathtaking new look at werewolves. I love the chemistry between Grace and Sam. #fantasy #youngadult #werewolves

⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ending of this book gave me all the feels. I'd never read a book about werewolves before and I enjoyed all the details that went into it. My favorite part of this book was when they went to the bakery☕❄🍫

Bailed. 3/4 done and I still wasn‘t invested.

I enjoyed this one, quite a chilly atmosphere while reading. I don‘t think I‘ve read a werewolf book since I was in high school and now I want more of them lol! I‘m trying for an early bingo here as you can see for #boonspinbingo

Starting a day or so late but my first series I‘ll post about for the top 20 favorite series in 20 days, is the Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater. It‘s just such a sweet, tragic and heartbreaking love story and I fall more in love with the story every time I reread it.

I‘ve decided I wanted to start annotating my books. Well some of them, mainly favorites and ones I know I will never part with. So the first book/series I‘m starting with is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. This series is still one of my absolute favorites and I figured a well loved series I‘ve read many times would be a great place to start. Got all my tabs and pens ready to make some annotations 😆

It‘s a very captivating story revolving around a teenage girl named Grace and a Boy named Sam. It‘s a thrilling love story which follows around Graces interest and connection with the wolves in the woods behind her house. She later find out the wolves are actually werewolves, one of which she finds herself falling in love with, named Sam. Highly recommend this book, I‘ve read the trilogy 3 times over now

I feel bad for this book (series?) because of its timing coming into the world. So many comparisons to Twilight which I find rather cruel and unjust. A lot of books are similar to this in the genre. I think Shiver‘s better written and more interesting. (Edward was much creepier, let‘s be real)

Teenage me would have LOVED this book. Adult me enjoyed it but it didn‘t hit me as hard as I needed for a “Pick” review. I‘ll try out the next book though.

This is very, very YA. It also appears to be an attempt at Twilight minus vampires plus extra werewolves. I enjoyed some bits quite a lot, but there was also a lot of eye rolling. 😬

I didn‘t hate it, but I decided to read the summaries of the rest of the series and definitely won‘t be continuing.

I finally pushed through and finished this book. To be fair, I was reading this book in August when my dad died. I wasn‘t able to pick it back up for a long time. This is a YA novel about a girl who falls in love with a werewolf. As the weather gets colder, it gets harder for him to stay human. Maybe there‘s a cure, but will they find it in time? I wanted to see how it would play out, but I doubt I will continue the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Shiver is one of my all-time favorite YA books. The love between Sam and Grace just makes me so happy to read. #bookquote #booklover #youngadult #shiver

First book down for the #24B4Monday #readathon. Off to a good start time-wise with 4 hrs 40 min.

I'm disappointed. The Raven Cycle series is so excellent, it's hard to believe it's written by the same author. I wanted more wolfy world building and less kissy-kissy, sappy-sappy. The writer has grown a lot since she wrote this.

My Daddy passed away on Friday night. While not completely unexpected given his decline recently, it was still sudden. I haven‘t been able to read since; just can‘t quiet my mind enough to absorb the words. Maybe while I wait at soccer practice, I‘ll be able to. Or maybe I‘ll just stare into space. 💔

Changing it up with a YA paranormal romance. My BFF‘s college sophomore daughter recommended it (and loaned it) to my HS freshman daughter, who is not a reader. My girlfriend‘s daughter read it in middle school and thought it would be a good book to spark my daughter. She really liked it - enough to listen to the rest of the series on audio. I‘m going to read it before returning it to my BFF so I can share in the experience. ❤️📚

Grace lives in Minnesota near woods and for years she has watched wolves, especially one with yellow eyes. Sam is sometimes a wolf and sometimes a human. He has yellow eyes. This is first book in a series about werewolves that has romance in it.

YA paranormal romance. It was alright, even though I'm not normally into paranormal reads. But I'm not interested in carrying on with the series, so it's just a so-so for me.

Today'a new read! It has finally cooled off enough to be able to read outside again. This time I get to read with the scent of jasmine around me 😍

Saturday night.

Started this one today. So sappy and lovesick for a Stiefvater novel, but I‘m still fun and engaging. I‘m very interested to see how I‘ll feel once I‘m finished.
