This is not the kind of book that I would normally read but it‘s gotten such good reviews I‘ve decided to give it a try. Here goes!

For awhile it seemed like everyone I knew was reading this book, and when that happens I tend to look elsewhere. But it was the first pick by my new Bookclub, so here I am. I don‘t care about boats or crew and I am not a huge fan of the “greatest generation” genre. But it was an exciting story from start to finish and I got choked up at the end because I love a good underdog story.
Such a great “feel good” story. I really enjoyed this. I would love to know more about these men.
1. I registered my oldest for kindergarten this morning so I treated myself to a hazelnut mocha macchiato. ♥️
2. Not a big TV watcher but I did watch the new TLC series Seeking Sister Wife. It was 👍🏻.
3. The Boys in the Boat. It‘s very good and surprisingly readable for something about a sport I care nothing about.
4. Way colder than yesterday. 😭
5. Yes. Both. Let‘s just say you should be at least 25 before you‘re allowed to get a tattoo. 😬
My current book struck me as the perfect choice for today‘s #marchintooz prompt, #helpinghand. Rowing is all about working together and keeping pace with one another. Every man has to be on his top game for the crew to be successful.
I‘m reading this for #booked2018, #olympicsport, and really enjoying it but it isn‘t really a quick read for me. There‘s so much to take in!
The author is going on about east coast/west coast sports rivals and all I can think about are the two greatest east coast/west coast rivals in our history. 🤗🤔😂🤷🏼♀️ #iloveitwhenyoucallmebigpoppa
Had this one on my kindle for a long time. Really enjoyed the historical account of everything that nine college boys and their coaches went through in their attempt to win the gold medal in rowing at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. I love sports but knew nothing about the sport of rowing before reading this interesting story that examined the power of perseverance and working together as a true team of brothers.

Perfect afternoon. 75 degrees & breezy. Reading outdoors & relaxing after a long stressful day. Sun on my back feels wonderful!!!

Ambitious TBR for me given work & just life! The tagged book is a must for bookclub. Kline & Yoon for #LitsyAtoZ challenge (K, Y) so if I get one read I will be happy. Lipton is a library book, & Haigh I have been trying to get through, but its slow. She is speaking at a local library in November. Christie is for respite!
Enjoyed learning about the sport and the trials the team went thru to get to the games in Berlin. Amazing the man who handcrafted the boats they used and the history. This would make a great book flight with Unbroken and paired with the PBS American Experience The Boys in the Boat and the most recent movie Race about Jesse Owens.
I don't know why I can't get into this one. I've been trying for months! And everyone else seems to love it. I love narrative nonfiction, and I love Seattle! But.... sports. Meh.

I'm reading this on my Kindle and really enjoying it. I'm only half way through, and I'm hoping I can finish it by the end of the month. #slowreader
My first post: 😳. I have just begun this book and so far I want to know more and more. I love nonfiction writing that reads like fiction. Absorbing and truly interesting.
Read because Andrew Luck selected for book club. Excellent book, standing out even among books with similar topics. #ALBookClub
I absolutely devoured this month's book club pick. Beautiful writing and compelling characters bring this moment in time to life.
Next up for my ears...
Reading this for book club but having a hard time getting into it.
Boys in the Boat. About the Washington crew who went to the 1936 Berlin Olympics. ...a little naptime reading. I'll probably fall asleep...though only partially because of the book. 😝 The audio narration is FANTASTIC!
