I loved this audiobook, it was my serendipitous purchase. I lost my reading mojo and this book restored it. Completely different to my usual choices in that it has mystical and romantic elements. What is more it is read by the fab Jane Carr, British actress who has appeared in many American TV shows

Ubiquitous damaged female cop in the fictional Dublin Murder Squad being disrespected by her colleagues in ways not seen since the 60s and 70s. Long, detailed interrogations followed by long and detailed discussions about - the interrogations. Lots of rambling thoughts from the narrator about me, me, me? So why did I award 4 stars? Well, it's a clever story but it just took too long to tell. great stories but drowning in words

I've just reviewed this, it would make a great Christmas gift and would be a great conversation starter. Put it on your coffee table and nobody will be able to resist it

I love books that are about food but are not exclusively recipes. This book takes the reader on a trip to Macau and explains how it became such an intriguing melting pot of cultures. We get to meet the people and, of course, there are recipes. Unfortunately a little more care needed to be taken with the illustrations. I could not even find a higher quality cover pic.

These Harry Starke books are 5 star all the way for me, nothing deep and meaningful but just darned good entertaining stories. Tom Lennon is one of my favourite narrators, he's just perfect as Harry

William Shaw is one of my favourite writers. He is the author of the fabulous Breen and Tozer series set in London of the 1960s.
This book is a standalone, a murder mystery set in a bleak area of England. In my review I said that it is a keeper, to be taken off the shelf every few years to be re-read. Good writing, good story

I had looked forward to reading this one but was very disappointed. Concept was excellent, I don't know what went wrong! I felt it was written in a hurry. My heart sank when one of the characters turns out to be that ubiquitous damaged female cop who works outside the system yet manages to keep a job. All the characters are weak and the ending, well, as I said, rushed

Thoroughly enjoyed the story but had to keep reminding myself that this book is FICTION. I don't think the author liked Nora much at all, to the point of being accusatory. This is my problem with Historical Fiction there will be readers who believe every word is fact

Loved this, if you like a bit of Irish droll humour plus crime you might enjoy it. Caimh (pronounced queem) is a comedy writer, this is his first novel and, I believe, is better than Evanovich. You mustn't however, object to some ripe Irish phraseology.

Just about to start this one from Hachette Australia, hope it lives up to the beautiful cover. I'm always a bit concerned about what I will take away from historical fact/ fiction: the fact or the fiction?

This is a gorgeous book, sturdily made, highly detailed illustration and easy 4 line rhyming story promoting courage when scared. Would be a lovely gift for a 3-5 year old. Ideal way for overseas kids to learn about weird Australian wildlife- Kevin the Koala, Wombat, Dingo, 'Roo and more.

Loved this series

This is Australian author Emma Viskics' debut novel. A Mystery but a little different. Caleb the main protagonist is an investigator and is profoundly deaf. The author hasn't used this as a hook, she simply includes in a matter of fact manner. I hope you all take a look at it, it's a great read and deserves some attention. It also gives a peek at our Australian life - apart from the murder!

I gave this 4 stars, lovely book with unusual recipes. Good clear instructions. My copy is an ARC but I won't be buying the book simply because of the hard to read header font. A sort of pseudo Arabic as you will see on the cover

Literary art fiction, The period of rivalry between Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Stephanie spent years researching her work. Would not have chosen this audiobook but the author requested a review and yes, it was hard going at times but I enjoyed it. I would have preferred the American narrator just hadn't bothered with the Italian accents, all the characters were Italian so it did get a tad tedious. It's a pick if you love the genre.

Fifth in The Troubles series. I'm surprised by how much I've enjoyed the books as, going by blurb, I shouldn't like them! McKinty is a really good writer, knows how to create atmosphere. This is possibly the only book of the series that can be read as a standalone, but I recommend starting from book one. Audiobooks read by that superb narrator Gerard Doyle

Unique plot, not one likeable character but all are intriguing. Some say it's a slow start, maybe, but worth it for the jaw dropping ending
