Some of my paperbacks and ARC‘s that have been waiting for summer!!
Awesome narration of a very current novel in powerful voice. I hope they make a movie of this!
Wow! Destined to be on my favorite reads of 2018. Beautiful writing. Great narration, too (via audible)
Listening to this one now...suspenseful! (Via audible)
I love her writing and this story is intriguing and full of memorable characters. Ng has a way of developing characters through the most ordinary things - the rip in a jacket, the way their hair falls over their eyes, - the ordinary becomes extraordinary and memorable. Truly a rare time that I refer to a novel as having "rich prose". Loved the narration.
Wow - unforgettable story based on true historical events. Loved the narration. Definitely disturbing with child abuse but such great characters. I researched the story behind this and got upset all over again.
Love everything she's ever written! Listened to this one via Audible.
Listening to this one now. Love this author!!
Wow! Talk about evocative writing. Loved this one as first in the series. Tough yet touching. Excellent audiobook. I kept picturing my grandfather a tough little kid from the countryside near Naples!
This one really spoke to me - maybe because of how I grew up? JD Vance does his own narration.
I thought I'd like this funny but touching novel, but I ended up loving it! Audiobook narration was spot on perfect, too.
Read this amazing novel a while ago and I'm still haunted by it...(net galley)
I never get tired of this series. Loved the audible narration!
Just got this series in at school so I'm giving it the look-see. Love it! A story a kid will enjoy with humor and history that all ages can appreciate.
Loved this YA story! Sensitive portrayal of teens and their challenges. Audible bargain!
I loved this story about an ordinary man living an ordinary life; which ends up showing us that life is actually extraordinary! Audible choice for me for Sept.
Unlike a lot of my fellow readers, I found this slow going until the last few hours in audio. Have to confess that the audio of Judah's NY accent was particularly grating. I'm sure I'm in the minority. Audible monthly credit pick.
I really enjoyed this HF about Leonardo da Vinci and how he came to paint the Mona Lisa.
Currently reading Kristy Cambron's newest and loving it! (ARC from the publisher).
Love this series! This one was no exception. Great writing that perfectly blends historical fact with fiction. Can't wait for the next one! Net Galley e-ARC.
Listening to this one as I commute. Heart-breakingly real. I can't turn away (of course not - I'm driving - but you know what I mean!)
So very excited to receive an ARC of this and started it last night. Loving it!!
Loved this upcoming book for teens about a girl trying to deal with being cut from competitive swimming. Fun and hilarious read - but with a positive message.
I loved this historical fiction novel based on the young French girls who came to Canada (New France) in order to marry and help build a new country. Blog tour on my blog.
Incredibly insightful and sensitive story of an adult man with autism. You have to hear it - audible narration was perfect.
Couldn't put down this book which read like a series of vignettes about a group of high schoolers. It was so realistic and disturbing. Would be a great book club discussion. (Strong language and sexual content). As a parent I just can't stop thinking about the harsh realities portrayed. Net Galley
Read this one through in a day! I love this type of suspenseful novel. Older YA and up.
Suspenseful read that I could not put down! Recommended for those who like a read like "Girl on the Train" or "The Guest Room". Net Galley find.
Started this Revolutionary War historical fiction last night and am loving it!
Next up for my ears...
Finished this one over the long weekend. I love anything that takes place in my hometown! Review to come on my blog!
Listening to this in the car right now. Reminds me a bit of To Kill a Mockingbird.
I didn't get around to reviewing this, but found it in kindle daily deals. Quick and "fun" read for YA and adults alike. I hear there's a sequel...
A WWII story that stays with you long after the last page. Heart-breaking yet triumphant. Full review on my blog at Beth's Book-Nook Blog.
Listening to this in the car and just want to keep driving!
