I think this describes all of Marie Lu's works. She is an autobuy for me.

1.) tagged book is my current read with a 9th grade book club group. Setting in dystopian future of Los Angeles, CA, now part of The Republic.
2)I would live to visit the Isle of Skye off the coast of Scotland- setting in JM Dalgiesh‘s Misty Isle series. Descriptions of its rugged landscape & sea call me!
I liked how characters were living on different sides of society and I could understand their opinions & where they came from. This was more plot- than character-driven story and I would have loved to get more of characters.
Twists were mostly quite predictable. It was also a bit too unbelievable that main characters were only 15-yo.
This was entertaining but I might have waited for something more after all the hype.

“Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time.”
Notorious criminal, Day and high ranking soldier, June cross paths when Day is accused of killing June‘s brother. Together, they uncover the truth about what brought them together and how corrupt the government really is. Oh man.. this is a good one! YA, dystopian, enemies-to-lovers, what more could you ask for? Written in both characters POV, which I loved! Excellent prose!
Wow. Thats the only thing that comes to mind when i think about this book. This book easily takes the number 1 spot on my all time books read. The characters are amazing. The plot is even better, and the amount of description is unreal. I cant wait too get my hands on the second book of This trilogy.
Willow approves. ?
"From different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths... Until June's brother is murdered, and Day becomes prime suspect. The two uncover what really brought them together, and the sinister length their country will go to keep its secrets."
Really enjoyed the characters, & felt connected to each quickly. The plot kept me guessing without giving away too much too soon. Already ordered the next book ?
Interesting to absorb this book in light of 2020, with all of the threads it has running through it. A quick read that left a lot of room for my own imagination, though :)
2021/03/04 A great beging book to the 3 book series and sequelae Legend. A novle told from the povs of Day and June. Flipping between them to show the different lives they live and how they crash corsed into each others life. A hero like story with a love stroy there too. A great book and i would recommend it for kids 10+ some graphic parts and a bit of gore in the description.
I love dystopian books so I was very happy to finally been able to listen to this one! I liked it, but it was a little naive for my taste. There was no falling for each other, just all of a sudden. I like to read about the fall. This entire book was getting to know what is going on and who the characters are. I hope the next books are more action! I have higher hopes for them.
I'm reading Legend by Marie Lu. This book is fun and interesting because it's told from two points of view. The main characters are Day and June.
Day is a young boy who takes risks and adventures with his friend Tessa while staying away from the army.
June is a young girl who is living with his brother, Metias. After Metias is injured badly, June has to continue on life-supporting herself. I would rate it an 8.5/10. I'm would recommend it to a friend.
Day 11
June & Day hold a special place in my ❤️. I did not want this story to end! That‘s how much I enjoyed it.
YA multi perspective Dystopian. Western US, now the Republic is at war with the Colonies. A military prodigy, June, is set on avenging her brothers death. Day, the Republics most wanted criminal, is doing whatever it takes to protect his family in the slums.

Genre: Dystopian Young Adult Fiction
I decided on this book because I love dystopian novels. Seeing how the future could possibly look like has always interested me since Divergent. I can't make too many connections to the characters presently, but I love how Day, one of the characters, is breaking social norms. During its time of COVID-19, I can relate to wanting to give people who are close to me cures for the disease.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

This book was first published almost 10 years ago but feels markedly relevant to now.
This came off hold first so.... my first #NewToMe author - Marie Lu! She has so many works already published....a little overwhelming but dipping my toe in with this.
So I@think I have found my niche in the Fantasy genre. I‘m a dystopian fan. I really enjoyed this book. It was advertised as fast paced but I didn‘t find it to be. I normally love a faster book but I was happy with the paCing of this one. I am so excited I am ready to read the next book in the series. I just happen to have it right here. 😉🙂
Time to start a new series. I have 3 of the books. I was in a reading slump and the last book wasn‘t all that great. Let‘s see how this goes. 🙂
5/5. This book is what I needed to get out of my reading slump. So many twists and turns in the life of Day.
🎧 I was on the fence with this one. I didn‘t want to like it. Fun YA audiobook. NOT A FAN of the teenage romance trope but it‘s a really fun book with a great plot. Some things are a little too close to home with this pandemic but that drew me in even closer. You‘re thinking alternate earth but ... 🤷🏼♀️ ... I‘ll sign up for book two for sure! Recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
To sum up quickly, a girl named June lives in a high social class where she exercises her smarts and physical ability. On the other side, a character named Day is street smart and trying to survive. It‘s amazing the interaction between these two! This is a sci-fi adventure lined with romance young adult novel. Legend will keep you reading with twist and turns. It‘s one of my favorite series if not my favorite. Really I recommend this book!!!

Legend, book one.
June is a prodigy and well on her way to a high-ranking military position. Day is a petty criminal and rebel from the slums. Their paths cross when Day kills Junes‘s adored older brother and she sets out to get revenge.
What she finds raises more questions than it answers and sets her and Day on an even more dangerous path.
Excellent YA dystopia.
“he memory fades, and i'm left hanging on to the ghosts of his words.,
I sped through this yesterday to finish. While I don‘t think there‘s anything special about this YA dystopia, I‘d say it‘s better than average. Higher in quality than the Divergent series, but not nearly as good as the Hunger Games. I‘m interested in the rest of the series since this was a quick read, but not feeling a rush.
Pros: dystopian world wasn‘t too complicated
Cons: insta-Love, dead parents, too young main characters
Love the light coming in through the window. Starting this tonight!
