I read this about a month ago, so I'm not gonna try to give a description except for: missing dragons, princess in prison, and mysterious magic. I did think it was interesting that the vast majority of the plot took place in a prison with flashbacks to fill in the blanks. Immediately bought the second one.

I haven't had time to review this one yet, even though I finished it a few weeks ago! But I got a concerning email, so I figured I would check in, since I never heard officially that it arrived. @InBooksILive , you received Before She Ignites, right? It should have been delivered via UPS

This book was everything I wanted, but even more so, it was what I needed. I could not put it down. I loved this world and all the characters! And of course I loved the dragons! I now have to read the others in the series. My #LMPBC #GroupD @rjsthumbelina @InBooksILive @hwestfall girls enjoy the ride.

So nervous to start this...the reviews don't look good. But I guess we will see.

3⭐'s. Sooo slow!! I almost gave up on this book because it was so slow. A solid meh.

This book is very intriguing, I haven't read a book where the main character suffers from anxiety..

I can‘t say I hated this because that would require an actual emotional reaction, and there‘s nothing to warrant anything stronger than 🤷🏻‍♀️ and 😴. World building was nonexistent or vague, the characters were flat and cookie cutter, the “magic”—such as it was—was random. Oh and it took like 300 PAGES OF NOTHING to have anything happen, & even then it was boring. Only real pro: The (white) author did a decent job writing POC characters. 1/5 ⭐️

People weren‘t kidding when they said this was slow. Good lord. 😴😴😴

Not gonna lie, I‘m not expecting this to be amazing or anything, but I really need an escape right now and hopefully it will at least provide that. 😞 #nowreading

My nightside reads usually tend to get out in purse or around the house throughout the day as I read them. Then, they go back on the nightside. Tonight this book, Crown of Midnight, and Renegades will be on my nightstand. Usually it‘s current reads.

I didn‘t get much reading done this morning. I read a few pages of Renegades, a few pages of Renegades, and listened a bit to The Hundredth Queen on Audible. Right now I am taking a break to look for a new couch. #24in48 @24in48

Book review! I recently finished "before she ignites "by Jodi meadows. I did like it but it was extremely slow in the beginning. The last half of the book was packed with action and that made it worth it. I really liked the character development and the involvement of the dragons. I rated it a 3.5/5 stars

Trying something new. A book about dragons for a reading challenge :) I hope it‘s good!

So many fun prompts. I like the longer challenges because I am more likely to finish them. Last year's BtB had like 127 prompts, and I came really close. Yet A to Z challenges are so restrictive, or hard to fill. X anyone?

Flimsy is the best word I can think of to describe this novel. The plot was compelling enough to finish the whole book, but all of the “big” moments felt underwhelming because they weren‘t properly set up. At times the dialogue was awkward enough that I had stop myself from editing as I read because it took me out of the book so often. It‘s not a bad story, it just want executed very well. #2018reads

The concept is intriguing but the writing leaves something to be desired.

These were both good books. Decent plot and setting and okay characters. Both deserve ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars. But in times like this were beautiful and exciting books are coming to the Young-Adult market you have to be more than average.

I'm giving this book a 3 star.It would've been higher if it weren't for the maincharacter, Mira.She whines,belittle her self.I have a hard time understanding why the author wrote her like that. It's REALLY annoying.The story is very good,she's made a fantastic scenery for it and the hints of magic we get is so intriguing.Lots of villains you'll love to hate.I will read the next books, in hope of Mira growing an actual backbone.

Got about half of my housework to-do list done today so now it is time to kick back & relax with a new book. As a huge fan of her Incarnate/New Soul trilogy I couldn't wait to finally get my hands on this.

Today I finished both MONSTRESS vol 1, and ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND which was my first book in the yule bingo. Moving on to Before She Ignites for my next book in the bingo 🤗

Just a heads-up that this is a character driven story that‘s slow going. The only thing pulling me through was wanting to know what happens to the dragons...which I won‘t know until the 2nd book (well played Jodi Meadows). My favorite character Aaru, the MC‘s silent friend, left me wanting to know more about their relationship so... although the 1st book was so-so for me - I‘m more likely buy the second book... just out of sheer curiosity.
