Thick as Thieves | 
pickI have once again found myself not wanting to stop listening to a book in this series. Each book is from a different character's point of view and it's a credit to Megan Whalen Turner's writing that I've enjoyed each one so very much when Eugenides isn't the main character of each book, though he's the main character of the series as a whole. This one was like a fantasy buddy movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Started this audiobook this morning. Happy to be back in the world of the Queen's Thief.
pickReading this felt very much like a buddy cop movie only it's a soldier and a runaway slave on the run. Readers get to see more of Costis from book three and some of the culture of the Mede empire that's threatening the Penninsula.
Seriously enjoying the heck out of this series!! Finished A Conspiracy of Kings yesterday, and today this hold came up! I clean houses, so audiobooks are absolute life for me while I work. 😍
pickThis is one of those rare books that's even better as a reread! Kamet, the slave of the Mede ambassador fro THE QUEEN OF ATTOLIA gets his own story. When his owner dies, he takes an opportunity to escape, traveling with an Attolian soldier, even though he knows that their companionship will only be temporary. Start with THE THIEF, though, to really appreciate how the pieces come together in this series.
Busy busy busy dayyyy but I'm making time to pick this up.

pickThis is a series I love recommending especially to fantasy fans. The mix of mythology, politics and scheming thieves (fine thief) is so delightfully done. As much as I loved seeing Costis again, I miss reading from Gen's POV. #litsygram
Never in my life have I ever been thanked for reading. Until this weekend. I went to Value Village and walked away with this haul, the employee I checked out with thanked me for reading as I was leaving. Such an odd experience. But I got some books I‘d been hunting for out of it. #bookhaul

Spotted the hardcover edition of Thick as Thieves earlier today. One of my favorite reads this year! I own the Kindle edition though.
pickNo big deal, fans of the Queen's Thief series have only been waiting SEVEN YEARS for Thick as Thieves to be released. Easily my most anticipated 2017 release, this book was just as brilliant as I expected a Megan Whalen Turner title would be. I reread the earlier books prior to diving into this one and I believe that gave me a better appreciation of how the story progressed. SO, SO GOOD.

pickAnother great instalment of this great fantasy series. The focus is on Kamet , a slave, and his journey with Costis from Mede to Attolia. Bought the ebook this morning and finished it tonight. I would have read it in one sitting but I had to work.
pickThe only thing a reader of this series knows while reading one of its books is that nothing is exactly as it seems, which is part of what makes it so fun. You also can't help but note that as Eugenides star has risen over the course of the series the reader is removed from knowing him a little more each book, until here we are with the perspective of a foreign outsider looking in. I loved this story and hope the next isn't too long off.
I like the world-building of having fictional legends from within the story quoted at the beginning—something about it just tickles me.

pickWhy don't people talk about Megan Whalen Turner more? Thick as Thieves delivers on the sly, subtle wit and the clever political machinations that we've grown to expect from the Queen's Thief series. If I were to compare it to the other books, I might say that it may lose something for the comparative lack of Gen and Attolia, but I respect the risk of telling a great buddy adventure story from Kemet's new and fascinating perspective.

pickThis was worth the seven years of waiting. As much as I adored Thick as Thieves the first time, MWT's work always improves on the reread, and this one was no exception. Dear Kamet and his poor Attolian charmed me in every way. If you haven't read this series, start with The Thief and go in blind so as not to spoil yourself. The twists are worth it.

This one was my far my favorite of the series! Looooved the characters and their relationships. The action was constantly moving, emotional roller coasters. Best one yet!

pickAnother solid volume in the Queen's Thief series. This one did feel a lot like the first book in the series, and I want more along the lines of books 2 & 3. I'm impatient for more of Gen, rather than a "companion" volume like this one. But really, these are faint criticisms. Turner has created characters and a world I want more of, and I'll devour more of these books any day!
