I definitely enjoyed this book. It was similar in some ways to Behind Closed Doors. I thought it moved quickly and was very interesting from start to finish. It did get a little complicated/ hard to follow in parts with the time jump, but overall I really liked this one.
Overall, this was a decent thriller, without the “shocking twist” you see so many have these days. I kept waiting for one and was pleasantly surprised that the characters I liked did in fact turn out to be decent people throughout the story. An interesting spin on the domestic thriller trope, with an unreliable narrator but only because she‘s been so traumatized. Some extra gratuitous violence unnecessary to the story; but overall 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
This book gets into your head. The author helps you experience & understand the fear of an abused woman.
“I put my hand to my mouth to stop—what? A scream? There was nobody left now. Nobody at all. It was just him, and me. “ This book is giving me the serious creeps.
After finishing this dark book, I‘m ready for something lighter! #whatshouldireadnext #tbr #read #kindle
I‘m on a thriller kick & the Barnes & Noble trip was a success😬I hope everyone is having a good week! Stormy weather rolling in so that means reading in the rain🌧📚

It's been years since I read this, but I still think about it. Such a great thriller.
After her miraculous escape from an abusive relationship, Catherine begins to make steps down the road to recovery. But everything starts to fall apart, when the phone rings - she learns that her ex who has served his 3 year prison sentence is about to be released.

Although I had no trouble flying through the pages, it did feel a bit hackneyed. Party girl Cathy meets gorgeous and mysterious Lee who turns out to be a sadistic psycho. We see their relationship unfold and also spend time with Cathy three years later. She‘s suffering from PTSD and OCD, but luckily handsome doctor Stuart moves into the flat upstairs. You can see where it‘s all going from mile away, but I still kept reading.
A violent and obsessive ex-boyfriend who just won‘t let go. 😨

I typically only read 1 book a month unless it‘s a series and I read 5! I know that‘s nowhere near as many as most of you but I am super proud of myself 😂 hoping to read 6 for the month of February, maybe more - but 6 is a good start.
I really liked this book but felt there were parts that were lacking. It was definitely suspenseful and kept me on my toes. I just wish the book were either longer or was made into a duology! Read my full review: www.bookboundclub.com
I had 100 pages left in this book and there was no way I could leave it behind until I got back from my vacation.
One of, if not the best psychological thrillers I‘ve read all year. There‘s really no mystery (we know from the start who the bad guy is), but this tale of Catherine/Cathy during her relationship with Lee and 4 years later, really gets in your head.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Eh. I wasn‘t thrilled with this. I felt the middle dragged A LOT. I‘d say 2.5 ⭐️. Anyone read this and feel otherwise?
You guys. 😳 I was hooked. Overall I really enjoyed this book, but was not the biggest fan of the end. I felt like it was a bit abrupt...would definitely recommend though!
Finished this one late yesterday... 3 1/2 out of 5 ⭐️ for me.
With Thanksgiving and little man being sick, I‘ve had all of zero free time to catch up on any reading. Little man is napping (for the time being) so Christmas movies and reading it is while we wait for his daddy to finish up chores out in the barn
This one was available at the library so decided to start it next. I‘m sooooo not looking forward to going back to work on Monday and back to reality.
They tell me this drink will make me feel better 😷🤷🏼♀️
I‘m thinking the toasted English muffin with peanut butter and honey and a good book will work better lol
😳 I am so hooked into this book right as it is, now this 😳 I NEED to know what went down between Cathy and Lee 😬
At my desk with a dark chocolate hot cocoa ☕️ I literally cannot put it down, so thankful that it is on my phone and I can sneak a page or two in at every free minute!
Little man is sick 😭 he‘s snuggled up with his daddy‘s baby blanket while momma reads on her phone 😴
Apple cinnamon overnight oats with an e-Book in my X-ray room today 🍎🍏💀
Shift done. Kicking back with my book and a margarita 🤓📚🍹
Some nap time reading before momma heads to work 👶🏼💤
Great thriller, a page turner. The extra point is that we can almost understand how a person with OCD feels. Really enjoy it. "Before I Go to Sleep meets Sleeping with the Enemy in this sexy and suspenseful psychological debut thriller that is absolutely unputdownable—exploring romantic obsession, the darker side of female friendships, and the line between love and violence"—Entertaining level: ?????#Sha2017
Perfect book for reading on the beach of Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. One to dive into but also to forget soon afterwards.
Starting this book today and wondering if I'll be okay after. 😕

My Darcy was a reader. She also needed a Xanax while reading Into the Darkest Corner. We agreed it still remains one of the best psychological thrillers we've read.
It's been less than 48 hours and I miss her so much. She was my reading buddy, my constant cuddler. Anytime I was in a chair (or hammock) reading, she was next to me.
I listened to this as an audiobook and it was wonderful! Going back and forth between 2003/2004 when our main character, Cathy, is in a relationship with a man named Lee and 2007/2008 when something horrible has clearly happened and Cathy is now riddled with OCD. Hearing what happened between these two points in time was both devastating and exhilarating. Definitely plan to read/listen to more by this author! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Dark and disturbing thriller centred around an abusive relationship and its aftermath. The chapters flash back and forward to the time of the affair and afterwards which takes a few chapters to get into and it could have done with being a touch shorter but all in all a gripping read.
This is an odd thing. The author is British, it's set in England yet the narrator uses words like "pants" for "trousers", "sneakers" and "cotton candy". Didn't the publisher trust American readers to understand the original British words?
Don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for crime thrillers but, man, does this get more and more implausible as it goes along. It's decent at first and a mess by the time it ends.
Characters are poorly developed, especially our domestic abuser baddie who is a bouncer? Cop? Who cares? They just felt unrealistic at all times.
This seems to be as well loved as "Girl on the Train" (which I also think is overrated and disliked) and I am not sure why.
Literally on page 10 and my entire body reacted to this passage. I felt my stomach flip 🤢😵😱 #infinitejestbuddyread
Ok I've cut down my list of books for February. I know I will wander outside these as holds come in. Some ebooks. Some audiobooks. Some paperback books. Happy reading !!!📚❤️✅📖
