#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Finished the Sunday before last for #EBBR & I need to review these right after finishing them or take notes because I promptly forgot the (2?) that stumped me & I returned the library book.🤔Ah, well… also I couldn‘t get the ebook or print from the library at first so I tried the free audible version but I find I like reading these more than listening to them so I transferred the print copy in. Fun nostalgia as always.⬇️

DebinHawaii P.S. I like the old covers of my childhood more than the more modern ones the library has. 12h
DieAReader 🎉🎉🎉 12h
TheSpineView Fantastic!👍📖📚 12h
TheBookHippie I so agree about new library covers! 11h
Ruthiella I was wondering how it might be in audio. Because I am actively trying to suss out clues and inconsistencies, I do think they are better for me in print, so I can reread bits. 32m

#Naturalitsy #HyggeHourReadathon

My #HyggeHour tonite is with Encyclopedia Brown for #EBBR & if I have some time, I‘ll read more in one of my other books. Drinking tea & having chocolate. 🍫

Mood is sleepy & not ready for another busy work week of meetings & 2 more Hilo trips. 🥱😵‍💫😴

AllDebooks ❤️ I hope you have a good week x 2w

Another set of quick mysteries complete with resolutions at the end. It‘s fun to match wits with Encyclopedia Brown. I got about half of these easily, but there were a couple I only half-figured out, and three that stumped me. Definitely haven‘t aged well - the Indian trials were cringey and Charlie‘s teeth collection still makes me queasy. #ebbr

Ruthiella Yes, I thought aspects of this hadn‘t aged well either. 2w

Checking in with my #EBBR pals! I was bested in three cases. I‘ll put in under a spoiler comment my issue with one particular.

Fun fact: we find that Encyclopedia lives in a state with a coastline! I‘m imagining Oregon.

I am enjoying the goofy humor, like:

“I‘ve seen a match box and a boardwalk, but I‘ve never had to solve a pillowcase,” said Encyclopedia thoughtfully. 😂

“He‘s like a set of false teeth, always trying to get even” 🤣

Ruthiella In “The Case of the Stolen Diamonds “ would small glass beads really break that easily? 🤔 I think not?

TheAromaofBooks These are a lot of fun, but there were a couple where I found myself looking slightly askance at the solution 😂 1w
Ruthiella @TheAromaofBooks Yes, me too! 😂 But a ten year old would not notice, probably. 1w

Some of the cases stumped me and one I partially figured out.
#EBBR

Ruthiella Looking forward to the challenge! 3w
DGRachel I love that you tracked each case! 3w
Sace @DGRachel I want to keep a record in my reading journal but it‘s not like these books inspire a lot of introspection and commentary 🤣 3w

Shouldn‘t Encyclopedia know that chocolate isn‘t good for dogs? #EBBR

Ruthiella I had a lab/retriever mix who ate chocolate, chicken bones, you name it. Didn‘t faze him! 😅🐶❤️ 3w
Sace @Ruthiella Hopefully this dog will be ok. 😉 3w

Hello fellow amateur sleuths! Time to pick up a copy of the next book for this month‘s #EBBR group read. I‘ll check in with y‘all in a couple of weeks to see how you fared!

This buddy read is open to all. Let me know if you would like to be tagged. 😃

Read4life I‘m probably reading it tomorrow. I love that I kept my copies all of these years. 3w
DGRachel Can‘t wait to get started on this one. These have been such a delight! 3w
DebinHawaii Didn‘t look ahead to see my library doesn‘t offer the ebook copy of book 3. 🙁 It is free on Audible so I will try listening &/or put a hold on a print copy. 3w

Ruthiella @Read4life I love that too!😊 3w
Ruthiella @DGRachel They are such a break from heavier “adult” reading! 👍 3w
Ruthiella @DebinHawaii I‘ve not tried them on audio yet. Glad you have options. 😃 3w
DebinHawaii @Ruthiella Me either so I want the print copy as back up in case they don‘t work well for me in audio! Options are always good! 3w
audraelizabeth I put my hold in should be 4 weeks. 3w
Ruthiella @audraelizabeth Maybe you will get it sooner! That‘s happened to me before. 🤞 3w
audraelizabeth @Ruthiella oh it definitely would if i had multiple holds. It came in a few days early last month. 3w
TheAromaofBooks I read a chapter a day as a lunchtime brain teaser 😂 (edited) 3w
Ruthiella @TheAromaofBooks Perfect! I have to really brake myself from reading them all in one go! 😅 3w

I remember reading these as a kid and they still hold up. Great series for middle grade readers. Also my pick for “clues” for the daily prompt challenge. #scarathlon #teamslaughter @Clwojick

EvieBee I was explaining to an eight year old how you had to read how it was solved in a mirror because it was written backwards. She was so impressed. Hopefully she seeks these books out. 2y
Ruthiella Loved these books as a child! ❤️ 2y
