And finally in NBA short lists, we have fiction! I would be happy to see any of the 3 in the top row win, particularly James or My Friends, as both are terrific. If All Fours, a garbage book, wins, I may have to part ways with the NBA fiction list in the future.

Next up in NBA short lists in nonfiction! I‘ve read Knife and it‘s very good. I‘m about a third into Soldiers and Kings and it‘s outstanding. I‘m excited for Unshrinking but really disappointed to see Whiskey Tender on here: it‘s a memoir with history including not one single citation. It makes me sad they would pick such a sloppy book.

The NBA short lists were released today! First up, translated literature. So far, the only one of these I‘ve read is The Book Censor‘s Library and it‘s so good I don‘t see another beating it for my pick for the winner. But it‘d be cool if there‘s one even better. I‘m excited to dig in and find out!
