Started my next #24in48 read at the winery, but inside since it‘s so hot 🥵 Looking forward to some lighter reads this weekend (although this one is more intense than I was expecting so far) #romantsy #vineyardreads
I haven't read this series yet but it has been recommended. I'm pretty sure it fits #HotinHerre #SongsofSummer
May have burned through all three of these in about as many days...
« That was the deal. Every year, Livvy Kane and Nicholas Chandler would share one perfect night of illicit pleasure. »

Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to lust
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to us…

New blog post is now live! I read and reviewed The Forbidden Hearts series by Alisha Rai. They were hot and steamy and so perfect for the cold weather that is coming. Visit my blog at www.ashsscript.com to read the full review. And let me know if you read these books 📚

See my GoodReads review above! I have a lot of feels about this book. I definitely plan to keep reading this series! These books are definitely more erotic and steamy than I‘m used to, but I didn‘t hate it! 😊
I listened to this on audio and it was great!
MC with an Invisible Illness - #Booked2018
My #currentread - Audio version
I started listening to this audio yesterday and listened for 6 straight hours! 😬😬 so good!!
I don‘t usually read contemporary romance novels, but I‘m really enjoying this one.
#ReadingResolutions
Starcrossed lovers in a small town overcome family drama, personal secrets, and generations of bad blood to be together. Loved it.
Shades of Romeo & Juliet. Livvy Kane and Nicholas Chandler are pampered children of wealthy families torn apart by a tragedy and the resulting family feud. Livvy leaves her hometown after Nicholas dumps her. For ten years, they meet once a year for a night of passion. When Livvy returns home, she finds herself unavoidably drawn to Nicholas, despite their families‘ objections.
Finally got around to reading this one, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were relatable, mental health struggles felt real, the story was interesting, and the sex scenes were great. Looking forward to the next book!
This book is 🔥! I read book two before book one (this is book one), but the order isn't really important at least for these two. Characters who belong to different warring families, hot sexytimes, and a well-done portrayal of a character with depression. It's an interesting mix!
It's been a good week for my #romantsy reading!
My work hours are weird this week, so I have time to engage in some #romantsy while I eat at this awesome yoga studio/coffee bar that‘s Latina woman-owned and the only non-pretentious yoga place in a hundred miles of my house :)
#24in48 wrap-up! I had a busy weekend and wasn't great at updating on social media, but I did start & finish 2 books (Hate to Want You and The Lamb Will Slaughter the Lion) and start 2 others (Spinning Silver and Bonfire). It was nice to have some reading motivation even if I wasn't able to participate that much! @24in48
After reading The Kiss Quotient and loving it last month, I've been wanting to give more romance a try. All of the characters in Hate to Want You are very well-developed, and I thought there was a good level of angst with the family conflicts. I really liked the central relationship as well, and I'm looking forward to picking up more from Alisha Rai in the future! I'm glad to find an author that lives up to the hype, and I gave this book 4⭐️
Rolling right on in to Hour 33! It‘s time for another check-in (which means more door prizes are up on the blog!). What‘s everyone reading?! .

#24in48
For some reason, I had a hard time getting into this one but once I finally did, I read the bulk of it over the last couple days. I‘m looking forward to the next couple books in the series too.
Seriously awesome panel today at #bookcon about Toxic Male Syndrome with a bunch of romance authors whose books I now need to read!! Alisha Rai in particular had such great things to say about writing strong male characters vs toxic ones, and there was a lot of discussion about subverting tropes.
Too many good options for tonight‘s time with the #13inThreereadathon. I‘m only 5 chapters into Nreak Hard and am already having several WTF did I just read moments. On book 2 of the Deathstalkers MC, and just a few chapters into Hate to Want You. I‘ve probably read about 1.5 hours so far tonight all told. The hubs got called into work so I‘ve been binging Offspring but I‘m ready to read now!
Getting some much needed vitamin D!
Why, yes, the semester is over. How did you know? 😂
I enjoyed this one and will definitely read the next one! An easy read was exactly what I needed this past week. Livvy and Nico were great characters! 😍#romancenovelsmakebadtimesbetter
Day 9: BOOK
New book alert!! Two chapters in and I‘m already hot 😘😍😉 Bringing my relationship with my husband back to what it was sans kids 💑💏👫

This was my first romance and I got to say that I liked it! I liked that everyone felt so real, that the history between everyone was on every page. I listened to it on audio and there was something about people talking to dirty to each other in my ears that had me go “oh my!” 😂😂Will definitely grab the second and third in the series
Was feelin‘ in a romance mood despite my stacks on stacks, so here we are.
This recommendation was everything, @CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian !! I started and finished this today, and it was a great romance but also had some really great themes about wanting more for yourself. Excuse me while I go buy the rest of this series... #romantsy
Just ask-so for this one. On the plus side they addressed mental health, especially depression. On the not so plus side, for me anyways, it felt like a soap opera. #romancy
I am going to Disney world next month and will have 10+ hours of fly time plus downtime when my kids sleep. Has anyone read the Forbidden Hearts series by Alisha Rai?!? It has been a while since I read a real romance novel/series.

Great #romantsy! It‘s a Romeo & Juliet-ish story of a childhood sweethearts whose parents betrayed and stole from each other, who are both dealing with some hefty emotional issues. It‘s a heavier read but light on dram for drama‘s sake. (TW for depression and discussion of suicide)
Trying to squeeze in a pinch of reading while I cook some Blue Apron! 🍷
Not your standard romance. Liked that it addressed mental health issues. Also liked that their obstacles weren‘t simple misunderstandings. #romantsy #mentalhealth
Nbd, @AvonBooks just shared my review of Alisha Rai's Forbidden Hearts series on their Twitter. 😱😱😱
Here's the link to the review: https://theshrinkette.com/2017/12/20/review-forbidden-hearts-series-by-alisha-ra...
This exchange showing supportive female friendship just made my morning. This is my first Alisha Rai but I can already tell it won‘t be my last! 💗
Side note: I‘ve been a bit MIA on Litsy while I adjust to my adopted puppy but I couldn‘t be happier!
I'm having a massive book hangover after reading Kindred by Octavia Butler. I'm hoping this book will help.
Think it will work?
Kept hearing this book mentioned in podcasts and couldn't resist. So good.
I was a guest on @ReadingEnvy's podcast and it was really fun! I talked about the three books on top. Check out her profile for the link!
