The last book in The Last Policeman series. Such a great series! Each book has a slightly different feel to it, but as we get closer & closer to the asteroid hitting earth, it's understandable how one's focus might shift. The series is very noir in feel as the protagonist battles shadowy bad guys & the story keeps shifting. The end resolves satisfactorily; at least it did for me. 5 ⭐

vivastory I loved this series. I've thought of rereading it 3y
Ruthiella I was satisfied with how it ended too. I think it was pretty perfect. 3y
TieDyeDude Thanks for the reminder. Enjoyed book one, but never looked at the others. I'll have to keep them in mind 3y

Its hard to review this book without spoiling it. It was a great conclusion to the trilogy, and it ended so unexpectedly and perfect!

This trilogy has been some of the best fiction I‘ve read in a while. Very well written and surprisingly thoughtful. If you like mystery and dystopian literature then you would love this.

Schlinkles I really enjoyed these too. Ben Winters writes a good book! 6y
The.Intentional.Reader Absolutely. I read all 3 in about a week and a half 6y

The final instalment of The Last Policeman trilogy finds Hank leaving safety to search for his little sister, Nico. Of course he takes his dog and his thug. As the asteroid approaches Earth Hank carries on , working the case. Kleenex required. I stayed up too late , had to find out what happens. 👍👍❤️

The final book of The Last Policeman trilogy, this is clearly the best of the bunch. Most of the action is one week before expected impact, as Hank tries to find his sister. Winters achieves a sense of dread that slowly builds and reveals the priorities of the various characters in their actions as the end approaches. Good trilogy to choose for #LRC.

The final book in the Last Policeman series. Henry tries to find his sister before the end of the world. She believes her friends can stop the asteroid. Henry is skeptical. A very interesting conclusion.

A fitting third book for this trilogy. Despite the impending end of the world via asteroid, Henry Palace is determined to complete his mission - finding his dear and offbeat sister. I loved this trilogy.

I loved spending the weekend with this awesome mystery series (trilogy) that takes place in an alternate reality where an asteroid is heading to earth and there is nothing that the human race can do about it. Society is falling apart, but Henry Palace continues to investigate crimes.

krismlars A great series! 8y

So excited to be starting this! I don't even care that I'm sick right now. I can't remember the last time I read the books in a series (almost) back to back to back like this.

Powerful ending to a thoughtful mystery trilogy set in a pre-apocalyptic America hunkering down for an extinction-level asteroid strike. As with books 1 and 2, you do have to suspend disbelief, particularly about the protagonist's remarkable ability to keep going despite frequent injuries and capacity to get around long distances with nothing but a bicycle. But those are minor issues that do not detract from the pleasure of the reading experience.

The Last Policeman series is so good. The books are a perfect mix of literary fiction and mystery/detective story. All three books were quick reads for me, but very satisfying!

I wasn't sure what my assessment would be until the very last page. I couldn't predict what the author would do. I won't say more, except that I approve. 👍

Dragon I've read the Last Policeman so I'm going to have to read the next two books 💫 8y
Caryl @Dragon - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the trilogy when you are through. I think on Goodreads I gave the first book five stars, the second three, and the third four. 8y

As satisfying a conclusion to the trilogy as I could have hoped for, especially since I knew that Winters wasn't going to give me what I really wanted, which was at least one more book....

Kind of sad that this one came off my library hold list today - not sure that I'm ready for this awesome (so far) trilogy to end!

MrBook It's a good trilogy? I was hesitant based on the premise. 8y
outis @MrBook Even though the setting is pre-apocalyptic, the story focuses on Hank, who's a good guy just trying to do his job. At its core, it's really an exploration of "what would you do?" - such an interesting idea! 8y
