I so wanted to love this book. The writing is beautiful and the story is slow and introspective - things I am drawn to in novels. Unfortunately I never felt engaged with the story and found myself bored.

Tillie is the real deal! Her drawings are great and the stories she tells are fascinating. This one is a memoir. Check her out!
This book was not as good as I had hoped. The writing is fine and very atmospheric. But the plot seemed awkwardly put together and the characters fell flat.
Though the premise of this book was fascinating, I was disappointed in the execution. I was not particularly invested in any of the characters and I found the writing somewhat too clinical for my taste. It was compelling enough for me to finish, however. It would be an interesting book to discuss for a book club!
This book is a bit crazy! (Fiona will not sit still for pictures🐶)
Had a great time meeting Litsy-ites today! Even Harvey couldn't stop us! This was my blind date with a book match - thanks to @whereistexasjen and BIG thanks to @Soubhiville for organizing the meet up! 😀
This is my 3rd Sarah Moss book. They have all been slower reads, but very good. Beer and reading are the best way to spend my 4th! #beerandbooks
Oh man this is good so far!
This is a weird one. I did not know much about Lovecraft or his following, so that was interesting. Parts dragged a bit, but overall I enjoyed it.
The writing is a bit more formal than I prefer but this one made me think. Planning to pick up some more Wilder!
Picked this one up at the library! An imaginary seahorse!
I quite liked this book! The stories are gritty, odd and chaotic, with a lot of heart.
I am pretty sure this my first DeLillo!
Reading this one with @GameAndRead as the March book in our Year of Pulitzers 😎
About half way in and this book is just a joy to read.
Currently reading this 1965 Pulitzer Prize winning novel with @GameAndRead 📚
It's dreary here today - perfect for a dystopian read!
The writing is fantastic. I hope it continues to be this great all the way to the end!
I got 4 more books at the library ... like I need more books to read 😳
Starting this one today. I love books that have scientific expeditions as the setting!
This book is blowing me away! My daughter (half of @GameAndRead ) and I chose 12 Pulitzer Prize winning novels to read this year and this is January's pick. I am looking forward to discussing it with her as I think part of my reaction is due to my age/current place in life. I love books so much!
My NYE reading! Hoping to read a lot - maybe all- of Sherlock Holmes in 2017 🔍
Just what I need - more books! Picked up a few at the library resale book store 📚
It's close to 80 degrees today in Texas - good reading on the porch weather! ☀
This has been a fast, entertaining read so far! Thanks to The Nocturnal Reader's Box for sending it to me 🙂
My lovely husband brought this one home for me after he had an unexpected stop at the used bookstore. It looks really interesting! If you've read it, let me know what you thought 😀
I have heard so many great reviews of this one! Hope it lives up to the hype 😀
I watched the movie last week and immediately wanted to read the novella!
I enjoyed The Atomic Weight of Love and I look forward to more books by this author. The book covers a lifetime of the main character and I would have liked more time spent in some of the parts of her life. I would have liked some of the characters to have more depth as well. That is mostly personal preference though. The challenges of being a woman in the 1950's were highlighted and I found that quite interesting.
I loved Harmony so I am doing the backlist. 😎
Bandit approves!
Loved it! It is strange and heart breaking. The characters are beautifully developed. Kind of a dreamy feel and not very fast paced, yet I had a hard time putting it down!
I really enjoyed this one. Unreliable narrators, a creepy factor, and really good writing. Need to read more Sarah Moss asap!
My #fridayreads - looking forward to a weekend of reading after a long week of work!
This one is first up for the @DeweysReadathon for me. Have a great #readathon day if you are participating!
My @DeweysReadathon TBR. I am definitely a mood reader so not sure how the TBR thing will work out, but I am ready to read!
Totally engrossed in yet another creepy book!
Here's my pick for #reccomendsday! Jonathan Carroll writes weird stories with great characters and interesting plots. The Ghost in Love is all of that, plus a talking dog.
Being on vacation gives me a chance to support independent bookstores!
Visiting my daughter ( @GameAndRead ) in Chicago and went by Myopic Books. It is amazing! So many books!
The Last Policeman series is so good. The books are a perfect mix of literary fiction and mystery/detective story. All three books were quick reads for me, but very satisfying!
I absolutely loved Knockout when I read it a couple of months ago. Got this one today (it isn't on Litsy) - looking forward to reading another short story collection by John Jodzio!
This book is so so creepy! ☠️
I really enjoyed this collection of short stories - actually described as "a novel in stories." Quirky characters with interesting, sometimes heart breaking, lives.
This book has received a lot of hype, which may have raised my expectations too high. I thought the ideas behind the plot were interesting. It was a very fast paced book and I bet it will make a great movie. However, the characters were not developed enough for my tastes and I found myself skimming through the end.
