Cute story about marriage and the struggles of mid-life. About forgiveness, strength, and the courage to rebuild yourself after 35 years of marriage.
Witty but believable: Marcy's husband heads up a bra company but has a midlife love affair with the lingerie model resulting in pregnancy. During all this, Marcy's mom is diagnosed with cancer, but dies shortly after with heart attack. I could truly identify w MC, thinking back to my own situations 10 yrs ago
I enjoyed this book, about the main character's strength as she her husband leaves her and gets a younger woman pregnant. I enjoyed following the character continue through her life, and how happy I was at how to handle the situation. A great book for me to recommend!!
The wood in the wood box is gone, the fire is dying down, and it's raining cats and dogs and other small animals outside. Might be time to take my book and retreat to my bed, at least until the power goes out.
Such a cute summer read... Also, a good reminder that you can start the life you want anytime and under any circumstances!!
Curled up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and good book!!
This book is a perfect summer read and I can‘t recommend it enough. If you love genuine characters, read this book. if you enjoy being able to relate to the characters‘ situations, read this book. If you like following characters on their journey to becoming stronger better people, read this book. If you love smart, sassy, and truly witty women‘s fiction, you need to read this book. I can‘t say it enough: read it. You won‘t be sorry. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Enjoying my last chance for "waiting in the pick up line" reading for the next 3 months. #books #tlcbooktours #liftandseparate #marilynsimonrothstein #lastdayofschool
Finally getting the chance to read this one. If the author is half as funny in the book as she is on Facebook, it will be a hit! #books #tlcbooktours #liftandseparate #marilynsimonrothstein
#bookmailisthebestmail! And my new favorite justification when my husband comments on my book problem: #itsnothoardingifitsbooks 😂
#2017Book32
Books about women putting their lives back together after their husbands walk out to have a mid-life crisis affair have never been in my wheelhouse, so I did not have high hopes for this novel. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Rothstein creates complex characters, showing how important it is to surround yourself with family and friends who truly have your back and understand you.
A pick-humorous & moving, smart & witty about a woman starting over when her lingerie company owning husband strays & life knocks her down. I posted a very quick review of this novel already when I finished it for #24in48-but my book tour review w/ a GIVEAWAY for a copy (U.S. & Canada) & a super-delicious😋 recipe for (Cape Cod) Potato Chip-Crusted Cod Fillets is on my blog post today (link in comments). Stop by & enter to win! 📚👍🐟🍴#litsycooks
You, my friend, are more than a business. You are your most important business.
#24in48 Update: 5PM here, just 2 hours left & about 54 min reading to hit 24 hrs. Finished #readathon book 5-formal review + recipe pairing to be posted on Wednesday but in short it's a good quick read that I thought would be funnier but leaned toward moving, about a woman facing life when her marriage ends. Now: read my Harry Potter chapter or get in more of book 6 that I won't finish in time?🤔Chips & salsa snack (or maybe dinner-lunch was late)
Definitely not going to get to 24 hours but still giving it the old college try! Decided to open a blind date with a book that I got for Christmas, and it ended up being Lift and Separate. Let's give it a shot #24in48
#24in48 Update: It's 11:30PM, I just hit 17 hrs & think I'm done for today. Finished 2 books (I'll review the last one tomorrow-have to think on it) I'm 1/2 thru the book pictured & have about 2 hrs left in my audio book-not too shabby but I slowed down at the end.😲This was my 9PM snack break-white choc peppermint tea, LU cookies (I prefer the milk choc but tell myself the dark choc ones are healthier!)😆& a foodie magazine to relax. Nite all!💤
#24in48 update: 10 hours & some change & taking a quick break to do some spine poetry & my #readjanuary photos. The power finally went out about 11:15 AM and it's about 1:20 PM now. I switched from audiobooks & Kindle to print while it's daylight to conserve my power just in case it doesn't come back on soon. So I am in the midst of 3 books right now. Still nursing my latte...😬 How's your day going?! #24in48readathon
Turns out I suck at taking a shelfie! This is the bed hair, non-showered, no make-up, looks like I have black eyes, I have a headache and look like hell picture, just sliding under the wire for #24in48.
Here's the #TBR stack I'll be reading from for #24in48 #readathon + some loaded on my Paperwhite & Fire. I'm a very moody reader & need LOTS of options-so it's a big stack. A few are for upcoming reviews that I'll make a priority & we'll see what happens w/ the rest. I'm going to start at 7PM here, (12AM EST) & see how far I get. I'm under the weather & only got 2 hours sleep last night + a short nap today, so I may not last long! Happy Reading!📚
