It's very 🥶 cold here today so having a lazy day, snuggling in bed with blankets, cats, and this tome. I bought it a few years ago after reading Alison Uttley's A Traveler in Time and becoming quite fascinated by Mary, Queen of Scots. And then I lost interest. But quite enjoying it now.

MsMelissa 1992? I read it when it was first published, so I was right in my recollection that I read it in high school. I‘ve also read Helen of Troy, Elizabeth I, and her two books about Nero. This one remains my favourite, but all of her books are good. 4y

I've read a lot of books about Tudor England, but I think this is the first I've read that was from the point of view of Mary Stewart. It was interesting to relearn about that period in history from a different perspective.

Birdsong28 @Mitch I'm currently watching Reign on Netflix and that has taken more than a few liberties with her early story so it just comes with the territory. I'm actually surprised it's on at my cinema as it's not a 'big' film but it should be good as you said it looks gorgeous. 📚📖 6y

I am totally immersed in this 865 page book, can't believe I was passing it up due to the size. I have my reference magazine (on left) and it's so exciting. Already half way through!

BeckaroniAndCheese @BooksForYears The Autobiography of King Henry VIII was my first and I was hooked. She's also written one about Cleopatra and one on Mary Magdalene, both of which were awesome. AND, there's a new one coming this spring! 8y

booksandsympathy I read the book Elizabeth and Mary: Cousins, Rivals, Queens by Jane Dunn and I was actually surprised at how much I empathized with Mary and kind of thought Elizabeth was a bitch. I realize they were both being manipulated, but it changed my views on both of them. 8y
