Well, I think this one has broken my romance kick. I wasn't ever taken with the MCs. Kate Taylor was a bit bland and Samuel Thorne was a monosyllabic bore. The story got repetitive with him constantly whining about how she didn't belong with him & them arguing about it. The story just went on a bit too long.

10hrs for #20in4 for a total of 31 hrs! 🎉

Not my favourite Tessa Dare, but still a fun romance with a lot of heat 🔥, likeable couple and a satisfying HEA ending. Always enjoy an epilogue 😀👍, it was a beautiful evening for a walk by the ocean.

Kate Taylor has always been an orphan, but memories of her past tell her She Was once loved and she has clung to them with a vigour.

Corporal Thorne has been a brooding presence in Spindle Cove, but harbours secrets about Kate's past and her parents.

Okay, so this wasn‘t my favorite, but there were some highlights - a lesbian character! and some more creative sex acts. It doesn‘t take much to make me happy when it comes to a romance novel, I don‘t read them critically, I listen to them to give my brain a break. This one was pretty convoluted, but enough candy to satisfy this sweet tooth. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼1/2

Another great Spindle Cove book. This time, Kate and Corporal Thorne must jump over several hurdles in order to make their relationship work.

Fun, but not my favorite of hers. I really liked her, he was kind of a pain. Maybe just not in the mood. Did take my mind off my crazy life right now 😄 #romantsy

My least favorite Tessa Dare novel so far, and honestly the first of hers that I'm not completely enamored with. Still a quick, entertaining read, but the characters fell pretty flat. I just wasn't buying their chemistry. #romantsy

I really liked the first half of this one but once Thorne started pushing Kate away with his "I'm not good enough for you" nonsense, it just became annoying and the ending fell flat.

I'm on a roll - Book 3 of the Spindle Cove series is finished. Not my favorite. Kate and Thorne enter into a fake engagement when Kate's long lost cousins come to Spindle Cove.Thorne is suspicious of their motives, but Kate is overjoyed to have a family. Thorne felt not quite right as a romantic hero, and the ending was disappointing. I'm going to read this series to the end though. Two more books to go.

I wouldn't say I am ashamed of this, I am pretty open about my love of romance novels, but I might be careful about who I talk to about reading "bodice rippers". There's just something about a roguish duke.

Loved this one! Love this whole series so far!

I'm swooning over my new kindle almost as much as that lady is swooning on the cover.

This was kind of the perfect follow up to A Scot in the Dark. It's got a similar caring, protective hero who's absurdly convinced he's unworthy of the heroine, and a heroine with a sharp wit and a good heart and a spine of steel. I don't like small town contemporaries but I LOVE small town historicals for some reason, so Spindle Cove is the series for me!

A light treat 📚 ☕️ I love a good historical romance every now and then, and Tessa Dare's are definitely good
