We don't get snow days in my area, but I'd imagine my necessities would be a fully charged Kindle packed with books, warm blankets, my family, my cats, and chocolate. Maybe snowman decorations and a sled too to tell the kids to go outside with. Sounds like heaven! ❄

Snow Daze in the Pete the Cat series is a great animal fantasy fiction picture book for kids who are first learning how to read. It could be used for RA and IR and are great for elementary teachers libraries. These beginner books also use #17 to assist EL students who are first learning how to read in English, like my cousin who just came from Puerto Rico- he loves Pete the Cat books because of the images that‘s presented.
