A cute, fun look at the fashion magazine industry. Forty-something, magazine editor, Imogen, returns to work following a six-month medical leave of absence only to find her magazine unrecognizable. The magazine has moved into the digital age and Imogen has lots to learn about technology or get left in the dust. Humorous to me as I find myself to be a technology dinosaur at times, too. The audiobook has a very good narrator.
Started this audiobook last night, since I didn‘t end up falling asleep as early as I had hoped. I ended off #24b4Monday with a total time of 35hours 40mins. Possibly a new high for me? Super proud of my time☺️

This prompt made me think of Fashion industry novels.... and this one that‘s been on my radar for a little while...
Added it to my #tbr after seeing a great review by @LauraBeth and I think I‘ll read it for #pop19 for a book by two female authors...
This book is close to being too true about ageism & technology in today‘s world. It was super funny at times & heart breaking at others. It‘s a good read! #LitsyAtoZ #LetterK
“Have we all become so desperate to share everything that we‘ve stopped enjoying our lives?”
I enjoy a good satire. This didn‘t have me LOLing quite as much as their other collaboration, Fitness Junkie, but it was still smart and clever. This pokes fun at techie millennials, social media, and ageism but also hits a lot of positive notes. It‘s a good palate cleanser (and lord knows I needed one after those couple of Manson books).
We‘re back from our little family #vacation. It‘s gloomy out and the kids are bouncing off the walls. Thank the gods for #coffee and books! ☔️📖☕️

Combining prompts with my current ebook. 👍🏻 Fashion magazine editor Imogen Tate goes on medical leave only to return to an office filled with millennial techies and an app-based, completely online magazine. She‘s not ready to bow out yet. Cute and funny so far.

World renowned fashion editor Imogene Tate finds her job in danger because her conniving former assistant is coming for her! Not only does she want her job, she wants to turn Imogene's precious magazine into an app as well. An epic battle between Generation X and Generation Y that will have you 😁😂🤣
This was a cute story. Being young and willing to work all day everyday won‘t necessarily get you anywhere, you have to also manage to be a decent person. Work isn‘t everything!
Saw an ad on the Subway today about a FREE audiobook through Penguin Random House! Still trying to figure out the format of the download, looks like you might not be able to listen to it offline. But I'm not gonna pass up on a free audiobook and this one sounds good, with great reviews on Audible! Sort of a "Devil Wears Prada for the digital age".
Tryaudiobooks.com/bookclub and click "Try a free download" if you want it too! ♥️ #audiobook
Always wonderful when the "bad guy" gets what's coming to them. ?
Thought this would be good for reading by the pool. And that is my youngest daughter looking back at me, not a random kid. And, this is my book for #LitsyAtoZ for letter K.
I am completely entertained with this chick lit audiobook! Fun!

This was a very fun & charming read that takes place in the hectic high stressed and glitzy magazine world. It's basically "The Devil Wears Prada" for the digital tech-savvy age of today but with a much more sinister villain in my opinion-- Miranda has nothing on Eve Morton!??
Couldn't put it down once I started! Literally witty and hilarious from the very first page. So much better than any fashion novel you have read before.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of a print magazine editor and chief wading her way through the digital world. Loved the hilarious accounts of social media "over sharing" and a glance at how assertive can easily become bat sh*t crazy. Love!
You gotta want to hang in there with a truly heinous human for a while, but she gets her comeuppance. Not my favorite.
I'm listening to this on audio. Love the narrator's over-the-top English accent. Seems like a fun read so far.
Loved this one so much more than I thought I would! A great mix of Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City. It moved quickly and was fun, even if a few points of the age differences were a bit exaggerated.
Morning reading! It's grey and drizzly out, but this fast-moving "beach read" has my attention!
Fun, light, fast-paced and vicious, in the tradition of The Devil Wears Prada, with great descriptions of the flaws and foibles of a tech-obsessed workplace. Any non-digital native who ever finds herself confused and just trying to keep up will recognize herself -- and be cheering by the last page.
It was what is was. Enjoyable for a breezy bitchy read.
Mother's Day gift from my mother, a night in a villa at my favorite winery to read all I want. I brought several books, I'm just starting here.
