Excited to start this. Just abandoned Woman in the Water and I already know I love the way Lehane writes, so here we go!

May #BOTM are here! So excited to dive into both of these.
Oh my goodness, even better than the first book. How much longer do I have to wait for another?! I love Neuvel's style of telling this story through interviews, transmissions, journals, news stories. It was so good from beginning to end and I can't wait for the next!
Excited about this one!
Starting this today.
Just finished a meh book (the girl with the lower back tattoo), so lets move on to something I've heard is excellent.
I'm savoring my way through this one. I love the way Bennett writes and I love the story.
This quote is tugging at my heartstrings so hard. "If I had a nickel for every time I've heard one of these stories I could buy an enormous, plush pillow with which to smother my tear-stained face...Close enough is rape." #rape #rapeculture #truth
Spending the next couple of days on short easy reads. 🙌🏻 Happy #InternationalWomensDay!
Working though Glass Sword this weekend. I loved Red Queen so much but it's been so long since it came out that I may have been better off rereading that first. Nevertheless, I remember completely eating up that story while this is more of a slow burner for me. Hoping the second half is more of a page-turner.
My next literary adventure. Have high hopes for this one - have heard great things, and enjoy Crouch's other works.
Lucky You was AWFUL, and I'm incensed that I spent time reading that meaningless drivel, so let's see what The Most Dangerous Place On Earth has in store for me 😂
This book made me laugh, made me weep, and made me feel like I'm not alone, like my voice matters too. Lindy West made her points beautifully, with a good grasp of comedy and gravity and what it means to be a good human. I loved this so much I bought it for myself, and I'll likely read it again - something I don't EVER DO. Favorite book of 2017 so far 😍
I'm sitting here laughing and crying and fist pumping to Lindy West's Shrill. I'm only 65 pages in, and I know I'll be buying a copy of this book. The way West conveys issues like this is fresh and open and in-your-face and I love it.
Starting the week off right with some planning, and starting The Fall Guy. Hope it's as good as I've heard!
So today I got a ton of texts from the library. Apparently all of the books I had put on hold had come in at once 😂 don't even know where to start! #tbr #toberead
Starting on this one today. Won it from a Goodreads giveaway!
Nine pages in and my heart is already feeling that familiar, endless ache. I miss my mom so much, and we cremated her and I went through similar feelings. I still do.
I love it when books have a cover design under their dust jacket. Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I got into her other books hardcore in 2016 so I'm really excited for this one.
Diving into this. So is the cat.
My #botm selection for this month finally arrived! There were so many awesome books to choose from but I fell back onto this one because I've been dying to read it.
Starting this one too! I prefer reading multiples at a time.
Anything is better than that last boo. Have higher hopes for this one, I love Tor books!
Getting into this. Despite the main character's name being Sandy Beech (*eyeroll*), here's hoping it's good.
Starting this, it's due soon at the library and I know I'll get through it within the day.
"Did Joe tell his daughter she was going to have a surgery? Did she ask him questions about it, and did he answer them truthfully? Did he convince her that it was her decision but that he wanted her to do it?... Did he tell her that her behavior had disappointed him, and that her mother and sisters and brothers were concerned and frightened by her? What did she think? We can only imagine."
Heartbreaking.
So intrigued by this topic and can't wait to dive in. Still no power in the Outer Banks.
About to get started on this. Hunkered down in the Outer Banks vacation house while Hurricane Matthew rages outside...
This was a hilarious and refreshing change to my usual thrillers and mysteries and heavy nonfiction topics. Maarten found himself listless and unmotivated after grad school. His girlfriend Sylvia landed a job on the remote island of Tarawa, and they ended up leaving their civilized lives behind. The story was pretty funny, pretty sarcastic, and very lighthearted.
Got this from the library forever ago and I'm just now getting through it. I thought the writer wrote a bit pretentiously at first but once I adjusted to his style, I've found this book quite humorous. A witty and downright funny tale of the author and his girlfriend moving to a tiny obscure island when she lands a job there.
It's taking me forever to finish this book, but I love the characters so much.
"He shook his head and I saw how his face moved a little with concern for me, an acknowledgment, I thought, of how brave I was. Though I should have known that when men warn you to be careful, often they are warning you of the dark movie playing across their own brains. Some violent daydream prompting their guilty exhortations to ''make it home safe.'" (p. 286)
