I just recovered from a massive book hangover due to Crooked Kingdom (send help) so I‘m just now starting Maas‘s new novel. Her writing is hit or miss for me, and as of 138 pages this one‘s a miss. I‘m going to hang in a little longer to see if it warms up, but unless the main character stops being Like That it‘s going to be a DNF

But! It‘s snowing fat, fluffy flakes of snow outside. Makes for a very cozy evening for reading 🥰

Look. These characters are Not Good People. But I loved those assholes anyway. Bardugo built her characters around a cruel and cold world, so you want to root for them despite their actions. I wanted to know more as the novel unfolded, and I might have skipped dinner to race to the finish. Needless to say I‘m glad I risked the errand to the post office so I could pick up Crooked Kingdom ✨✨✨✨

It finally cracked 45 degrees, so I got to read in the hammock today!! Yes, there is still snow on the ground. It‘s the mountains.

Me, returning from a two year hiatus to say I‘m reading books again 🙃👋🏻

I read this in one sitting. Funny, brash, and totally honest. I loved this book ❤️❤️❤️

Admittedly I skimmed most of this book, which says a lot about it. Though as the book went along I found myself rooting for Turtle, despite the fact that she was coarse, abrasive, and oftentimes unlikeable. A few moments made me look away in disgust, and I can see how some think Tallent is glorifying abuse. I‘m glad Turtle got her hopeful ending.

When your roommate is being gross with her boyfriend so you head downstairs to read but it‘s actually a nice night 👍🏻

1. Peonies. We had a big bush covered in ants in the summertime. They smelled like sugar in the heat.

3. I have a garden in my home. I love houseplants and I will have them in every room once I move.

This one‘s starting slow for me, but my friend suggested giving every book 100 pages and it‘s finally picking up. It‘s a good read while a storm rolls in ⚡️⚡️

I deliver for UberEats, so sometimes I have to wait awhile before anyone wants food 😂 lots of down time to read in my car.

Half price Saturday at the ARC treated me very well. I found all these amazing books for under $10 😮 I just don‘t know which one to read first 🤔🤗

I liked the idea overall but it definitely stretched my suspension of disbelief a few times. I didn‘t find the characters particularly engaging and I almost didn‘t care what happened to them 🤷🏼‍♀️ While I appreciated Lo‘s handling of Reese‘s sexuality, love triangles aren‘t my bag no matter what combination of genders is involved 👋🏻

Reading Harry Potter feels like coming home ✨

Okay I admit it, I hated The Taming of the Shrew when I read it in high school. Which is why I'm surprised that I liked Vinegar Girl so much 🤗 I zipped through it in two days (reading it on my phone at the bar to avoid talking to creepy guys 😬)

Also, im loving this picador edition I snagged at Indie Bookstore Day. Yes, I'm still working through my haul. I'm an educator I've been a little busy ?

Maybe I went a little overboard for #independentbookstoreday 😨but I did manage to snag the last free copy of Rainbow Rowell's short story and my bookstore had cookies!!😍

I loved this book and read it all with major heart eyes 😍 It reminded me of my best friend, our reckless teenage years, and it broke my damn heart along the way. Read this book slow. It'll give you time to watch a fast paced friendship fall together and apart. Love love love ❤️
Also I read this book in the back of my car while I camped in the Middle of Nowhere, Utah. Seems fitting.

Snuck over to the school library for my #AllHallowsRead today 😊 The first horror books I remember reading were the Goosebumps series. I tore through them so fast, and most were from my elementary library.

Okay so I watch way too much Food Network and this book was a great play to that interest 😂 It took awhile to build up steam on it but I ended up enjoying it 👌🏻

Finished this one up while traveling through rural Illinois. The run down houses and broken out cars were an apt setting. There were a few moments that left me chilled, and I liked this book overall.

I'm not giving up on Modern Lovers yet, but I was too intrigued by this one so I had to start it before work today 😊 So far I'm hooked. It was hard to leave the sunny porch to go in to work.

Anyone else having a hard time staying engaged with this one? Maybe I'm just tired after work (it's tourist season 💀) but I'm not feeling motivated to finish it.

Curled up to rush through the end of this one. All of the usual sharpness and wit that I expect from Atwood, though it didn't scare me like her MaddAddam trilogy did. A good, eerie read from an always on point author.

Yes, it was funny. Yes, I laughed out loud. No, Lawson never shied away from the fact that she's mentally ill. This was exactly the book I needed to read for where I am with my mental health (namely, in therapy) 😊

Found this amazing pulp fiction cover of Dorian Gray on Pearl Street today. 😍😍

I'm having a hard time with this one. Personally, I have a bad history with food and obsessing over it, so reading this can bring back those feelings at times. I'm trying to push through, so wish me luck 😥
