Written in 1998, yet seems timely.
Finished this series last night. I already miss the characters. This is my type of fantasy novel. It's fantasy mixed with a bit of science styled magic. No fairies or elves.

I loved this book. I'm a huge Star Wars fan already. I loved hearing about her affair with Harrison Ford. I have had a crush on him since I first saw the movie. It was like living vicariously thru her. The con stories were amusing.
A little comic reading with Roxy. She likes the ones where animals take over. Animosity: Evolution #1
Listening to her talk about her affair with Harrison Ford. Her crush on him was almost as big as mine.
I enjoyed listening to the book. I still don't think I'm ready to go for a PhD in astrophysics, but I have some more trivia answers for the science pie piece in my head. And winning Trivial Pursuit is almost as good as a PhD. To balance all the science, I was stitching a mermaid while listening.
Last book for #litsyatoz challenge. Books in the comments.
Trying to decide if it's a thumbs up or a so-so. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't what I expected. A couple of the stories were really dark. I thought it would be more fun. Lacey won't touch it. #catsoflitsy
Leeroy holding my books hostage until he got dinner last night. I was only 10 mins late! #catsoflitsy
I loved this graphic book. It goes right up there with Saga. Young girl invites herself to become the town villain's sidekick. He reluctantly agrees and chaos ensues.
Listened to the audio book. It was cute. I think she tries to hard to show she's "one of us." The stories were funny though. A solid 3.5 stars.
I'm enjoying the Great Library series. I like the stream punky magic, the fight over knowledge, the dream of the great library of Alexandria. I hate that there will be 5 books in total. I heard this was going to be a trilogy. Am I the only person that hates series? Especially ones that aren't yet complete?
Placed my hold on 8/17. Estimated time to get it 12 weeks. Actual date to borrow... today 8/28. I'm excited, but in the middle of a different book. Guess I better get to reading!
This is one of my favorite comic series. I have a serious girl crush on Suzie. Love a woman passionate about libraries. Basic premise, whenever these 2 orgasm time stops and they get into shenanigans. Uh oh.... there are sex cops! Its not just them.
Finished this up after being at work for 3 hours where absolutely nothing happened. So boring. But the book was not boring at all. I loved all of the stories. The last one reminded me of my grandma. I'll remember to say "splendid!" any time she is excited now.
Checking on my library hold. Only 3 months to go. Thankfully I have a hundred other books on my tbr.
I listened on audio with Maya Angelou reading it herself. It was amazing. I would whole heartedly recommend listening to this book. Parts of the book are hard to listen to because of the subject matter, but other parts I can't imagine just reading and not listening.
Lacey would like me to read more books that keep me riveted like this one did. She enjoyed the lap time. This book lived up to all the hype. #petsoflitsy
I can't even begin to say how beautiful the art is in this comic. I wanted to rip out the pages, frame them, and hang them on my wall. My husband pout it down after a couple of chapters and said he didn't like it. I was a bit worried it was gong to be all show and no substance. Fortunately the story stands up. Magic, adventure, ancient gods, fun for everyone.
Animosity #7. This comic always makes me wonder if I am treating my pets good enough. Will they protect me if the Wake happens? Will they run off and join an animal militia? Will they go feral and attack all humans?
Why are vaccines important? What is the history behind them? You get both answers mixed in with a lot of personal antidotes. I was hoping for a bit more, but I never thought of putting the book down.
Yes, I'm catching up on my posting. I'm way behind. I need to stop reading and crafting and post more...or not. Squirrel Girl finds herself in the 60's. Will she finally meet her match? Will she become Beatable Squirrel Girl?? The only thing I will reveal is that pistachios are the superior nut and being a super hero won't stop your mom from telling embarrassing stories about you.
The new artist threw me off a bit. A few times I didn't recognize Hannah. The story was still really good though. Lots of adventures and shenanigans. It did end with a cliff hanger, and from my understanding this is the last volume. Seems the team imploded. I would still recommend the whole series.
I thought a book about punctuation would be boring. It had boring parts, but overall it was interesting. I enjoyed the history of different punctuation. My father was a printer, so seeing his profession making history was fun.
This was a good listen. I did speed it up a little though. It was interesting to hear about the history, psychology, and etymology of swearing. I thought it would be dry at first, but I ended up enjoying it. Swearing is something I enjoy across hobbies. I just need to finish my F in my WTF cross stitch.
Finished the book just in time to watch the tv show. A friend made a cross stitch chart of "nolite te bastardes carborundorum", so i am stitching while watching. I have loved this story since i first read it in 86.
These girls are really growing on me. Snarky, independent, and don't give a shit what others think of them. Plus, they kick ass, kill trolls, demons, and other assorted baddies. Rated M SVLN NSFW.
I have loved this whole series. It started as a 12 on the 1-10 scale. It slowed to a 10. This issue brought it back up to a 12. Family, space, friends who become family, enemies, lust, love, friendship, life, fights, death. It's all in there.
Made me wish i had been able to go. So much inspiration and passion. I don't want to put this book away. It's going to sit on top of the bookcase for all to see.
I think i love volume 2 more than 1. It's such a crazy over the top story. The art and colors are amazing. I love channeling my anger through Gertrude! She always knows just the right way to treat someone apart.
This week's book haul and Leeroy who just wouldn't get out of the way. I realized i never share my digital book hauls, but the kindle app shows them nicely. I also realized that with the amount of books i buy, i should read more often.
I wasn't sure about this book. I'm not a huge Shondaland fan. I've watched the shows, but wasn't gaga over them. I can safely say i am a huge Shonda Rhimes fan now though. This book was amazing, inspirational, funny, abs real. My commute to work each morning became way too short while listening to this. I am considering reading it to let more of it sink into my soul.
100% bummed that @Litsy had stopped adding the Animosity comics. They are behind 2 issues and a one off. I've requested all of them. Am i the only one reading these??
Animosity #6 did not disappoint. Lots of action in this issue. It did leave me with a bad feeling for future events. I'm worried for my heroes.
The Handmaid's Tale shirt came in the same day i started my re-read. Two new comics showed up shortly after. Had to start Saga immediately. Volume 7 is of to a great start. Can't wait to read House of Penance. The real Winchester Mystery House is only a few miles away.
Trapped in bed by #petsoflitsy. Guess I'll have to stay here and read. Glad my husband already brought me a cup of tea before leaving for work.
I made a little Unbeatable Squirrel Girl cross stitch. Can't wait to get her hung up.
What a bunch of badass women! Glad i already have volume 2. Lots of blood and action. A nice escape from the crazy real world.
Picture book day! I "needed" Serenity 2, but Amazon said i could get it next day free delivery if i ordered $35. What's a woman to do? I added 4 more books.
I wasn't sure about this book in the beginning. By the end, i fell in love. I stitch my stories. I'd be charged with witchcraft, reading and sassiness. I really related. These stories were amazing.
I'd give it all the stars in the sky and 3 full moons.
Plus side, i learned to pronounce Wang correctly.
Negative, i wasn't thrilled with the end. I love the basic premise, family immigrates, makes it big, losses it all, learns valuable lesson about importance of family. 3.5 stars.
You guys are ruining me. I used to be a strict one book at a time person. I have 3 active books going right now, and a short story book i was reading with my husband. We set it down a few weeks ago though, but need to pick it back up.
Finally starting this one. Reading one section a night and savoring it.
The lonely story of a cop on the moon with a dwindling population. The illustrations are adorable. I love the little moon parks.
Had to stop at the local bookstore while on vacation. What you can't see is my new Metal Earth model kit of the TARDIS. Woman can't live on books alone.
Finished an audio book today too. Having just turned 50 this year, i appreciated the humor. Woman should seriously get some pads instead of wearing dark pants on the trampoline!
I enjoyed this book, but wouldn't say it was fantastic. I am interested in finding out more about the real Margaret. I almost think she'd be more interesting outside of the fiction.
Hard to not think about the current political climate when reading this. So many quotes relate to what is going on now even though this setting is so far from our own. This volume ended on a hopeful note though.
The perfect afternoon. Did some stitching while listening to Carrie Fisher. She was amazing. Her book was amazing. I felt like i had a friend sitting and chatting with me.
This was a cute love story. I'm thinking of using this for my #readharder2017 challenge. I think I've read to many YA books lately though.
