Too Hard to Forget | Tessa Bailey

I've hit my goal of 100 books read this year and at the end of the year I'm going to see exactly what percentage of them are by #TessaBailey. I discovered her this year and am just obsessed. Full length, novella, even audio (which I do NOT enjoy), I've not read one yet that I didn't love. They hit you right in the feels, but they are also suuuuper sexy. Ms. Bailey knows how to write a dirty talking hero like no one else. #WhenInRomance #romantsy

Another night on graveyard, and so far I have read like......30 installments of this #webtoon, Miss Abbott and the Doctor. It's basically a historical romantic comedy with a bit of enemies to lovers in the beginning. Sooooo good, so sweet, very romantic, very funny. The language is modern, but it just lends to the cuteness. I am not a #comic / graphic novel person and I'm so hooked. #webtoons #romance #romanticcomedy #historicalromance #romantsy

When you're a hospital switchboard operator working the graveyard shift, you have plenty of time to read all the romance! #TessaBailey is another author I discovered this year and she has not disappointed yet. While this is packaged as a light, sexy read, there are some heavy things going on, so it's hitting me right in the feels. But don't worry, the hero is still the signature Tessa Bailey dirty talker. 😍 #romantsy #romance

Loved this magical, sensual book. One of the things I liked most about it also contributed to what I disliked most- the narrator is the great-niece of the main character Tita, and the book is written like a collection of family stories. I loved that, but I also felt like that kept me from really getting to know the characters as well as I would have liked. The author could have doubled the length and got more in depth and I'd have been in heaven.

So I know I just said yesterday that I was having to take lots of reading breaks....but I finally decided to sit down (in the daytime!!) and try to read more than just a couple chapters. And I loved it! Still scary but the last half became more thriller & suspense-like. There's a great romance building during all the horror, and I want to say more but I can't without spoiling it. Highly recommend, even if you're a big baby like me. 😊

I can usually read creepy books and not get too scared, but if I was reading a hard copy of this and not on kindle, it would be going in the freezer! I have to take reading breaks with it, so it's taking me longer than usual to finish. I knew there was going to be a killer on the loose in it...but people kept comparing it to Hitchcock, so I had to read it...I just thought it'd be more Rebecca, less Psycho, not the other way around! 😳

I am so in love with the show Younger and was so excited when I realized it is based on a book! Unfortunately it just didn't have the same sparkle as the show. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have the show to compare it to. (Also, TV Josh, tattoo artist > Book Josh, video game developer)

Hey Littens! I've been absent for a couple months now, took the leap and separated from my boyfriend, and I just didn't feel like being on much of my social media stuff. I was in a reading slump for a little while too, and it's the romance novels that got me out of it. I need lightness, love, happy endings- something I can count on amidst all this uncertainty! #romantsy #romance

I've read a lot of romance novels, but Alec is one of the first heroes I really fell in love with! Big and strong and kind with a painful secret in his past, he had a perfect match in Lily, who refused to let her own so-called "mistakes" keep her from what she wanted and deserved. And having the heroine really go after her guy (more than once!), and not just sit back and wait for him to come to his senses was a breath of fresh air. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ooh I really liked this! I flew through the first half or so, then the alternating narrations kind of threw me off for a bit, but once I just let myself be utterly confused by some of the chapters I enjoyed it again. I kind of figured out how it was going to end, but there were enough twists and unreliable narration that I didn't see it all really fall into place until almost the very end.

A big crumbling castle, a spunky heroine with crazy curly hair, a handsome, emotionally damaged (of course), blind hero, and throw in a long suffering valet, a sweet vicars daughter, a slightly psychotic ermine, and a legion of obsessive fairly tale fans-- these are the makings of a romance novel that I loved so much more than I expected to! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just gave this three stars on Goodreads- this was only my second Rainbow Rowell book, and Eleanor & Park set the bar pretty damn high. But it was still an enjoyable read, and I loved that bittersweet feeling of looking back at the beginning of a relationship, seeing where it all began.

Merethebookgal This is the last book of Rowell's I have left to read (besides her short story Kindred Spirits) and I've loved all of them! 8y

Still on my romance kick, and I really enjoyed this one. I loved the fact that the heroine wasn't a virgin, but a widow with a child! I think I'm going to take a little romance break for now, though, at least until I finish some books that I've stopped in the middle of; plus reading all these love stories while my relationship is heading toward some sort of end soon, is sometimes a great escape, other times puts me in a bad mood when I finish.

Nine Rules to Break & A Rogue By Any Other Name were my first Sarah MacLeans, such a one-two punch of awesomeness.....and I found this one just didn't sweep me away like the others. The whole, "you're better off without me, I'm no good, I'll ruin you" thing just went on and on for way too long. This hero had things in his past that certainly made it understandable...I just wanted the cute, nerdy heroine to have more sexy fun. Haha.

Set your DVR! It's Robert Montgomery (💗💗💗) day on Turner Classic Movies and late late tonight (2am EST) they're airing Mr. & Mrs. Smith, one of Carole Lombards final movies and one of her best. Any book about Carole will be a pick for me, but I didn't feel super into this book all the time, although I think part of that was because I read almost half over the course of almost a week and a half just at night during my sons bedtime. So I didn't get fully immersed. But I still enjoyed it, and I appreciate that the author devoted some chapters to who the other plane crash victims were and brought them all back to life along with Carole.

Okay...I was drawing a blank for today's friendship theme for the #AugustPhotoChallenge...so I picked Amy and Noelle?! Lol. I remember reading a comment by someone after either reading the book or seeing the movie that they wondered (SPOILER ALERT, although by now that shouldn't be an issue.) if Amy was going to go back to pretending to be Noelle's friend when she came back, and I thought about how awkward that would be. So the book chapters go back and forth between the plane crash and the treacherous hike to look for survivors, and Carole Lombards biography. They are now getting closer and closer to intersecting, as I am up to the end of Carole's war bond tour and her deciding she wants to fly home instead of taking the train as planned. It is very stressful and so so sad. 😢
