Settling in to start the next book club read. Love the cover, hoping the story is just as beautiful 💙
I‘m a little uncertain as to how I feel about Miss Oliphant so far, however she does have one thing completely correct: you can never have too much dog 🐕💗
So excited to finally read this.. I have been saving it for months now as a holiday read. But guess what? Bula, Bula! I‘m on holidays, on Fiji time (no hurry, no worry) and I finally get to crack open the pages of this bad boy! 😍📖🌴🌊🍹
1. So many! Vanilla, lavender, bergamot, coconut, pineapple, the smell of freshly cut grass, books and also the smell of camp fires 🔥
2. Twirls and Pringles 🍫
3. Cats, ravens/crows, crystals, oils, cards 🐈
4. We don‘t really have Halloween here in Australia 😔 But every couple of years I do try to get a few people together for a backyard party with costumes, drinks and a campfire and that‘s pretty fun 👍🏼

2. We don‘t have a long weekend here, but my boring two-day weekend will consist of me running around trying to get things organized before my holiday in a couple of weeks 🏖
3. Ben & Jerry‘s choc-chip cookie dough and cotton candy ice cream flavours🍦
4. Nope. I was forced into piano lessons when I was younger and despised it because I wanted to learn guitar instead 🎸

I almost really loved this book... And then it ended.
This is an entertaining and somewhat gripping tale that leaves the reader desperate for answers they will never receive. By the last page, Bryer has you questioning not only your interpretation of the book; but also whether you read the book correctly to begin with.
A story that will haunt the reader long after the final page has been turned.
“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows”.
Such a brilliant read. I was put off reading this after being forced to read ‘Animal Farm‘ in high school (I‘ve always resented being forced to read books not of my own choosing). Needless to say I‘m happy to have picked this up and forged ahead anyway. It is incredibly powerful, frighteningly insightful and so very relevant to our world today 👁
Last night‘s attempt to finish my book before book club today did not go too well.. 🐱

So far though I‘ve read this in the “cover-to-cover” way and loved it ❤️ I think I need to detox for a couple of days but then plan to read it for the second time, this time in the “Baroness Sequence” 📖
This was an odd read, but I really enjoyed it. I‘m not usually one for anything focused on modern history, but by blending African-American history with mystical tales of witches and curses, Moore managed to have me hooked from the start. The only thing that I think may have added to the book is more detail on each of the characters - I found I just didn‘t develop any strong attachments to these characters. Overall though, a pretty great read 👍🏼
Quite enjoyed this one. It was a bit of a slow burn but I loved the way everything tied in together towards the end. I found it offered some interesting characters and perspectives; and I really appreciated the attention to detail. Overall a light, mostly-upbeat read that is still a little thought-provoking and gives you a sense of satisfaction when you‘re done 👌🏼🎟
I also used this for my #popsugar2019 “book about a hobby” (I.e. sewing)

Beautifully written, just a little disappointed in the storyline. Going into this, I think I was just hoping for something a little more uplifting, and I didn‘t * really * get what I was looking for.. (I know, I know - a story set against a backdrop of the Russian revolution.. how could I possibly think that would have a happy ending, right?) 🤦🏼♀️
Needed a book set in Winter for my “seasonal” #popsugar read.. Apparently I‘m off to a good start 👍🏼❄️

I really enjoyed this book. It‘s a quick, easy read but it still delivered great story and fairly well-developed characters given the length of the book. I particularly liked the way Emily was written - she may be an A.I. (or an “A.C.” if you ask her) but she still came across as an extremely relatable character and that definitely added to my appreciation of Wheaton‘s work.
Also using this for my #popsugar19 “uni campus” read 👩🏼🏫

A tragic, beautiful and moving story that, for me at least, hit close to home. Full of hard truths and revelations, this book wrapped itself around my heart and squeezed with all its might ❤️
On a side note, this is also probably the best Australian novel I‘ve read to date 👏🏼🇦🇺

When I started this I was looking for an epic fantasy, and I got what I wanted.
This book is a bit of a chunkster, but I honestly would have been happy if it was triple the size as I just didn‘t want this tale to end. It‘s a beautiful and detailed fantasy full of powerful characters and themes; and Shannon did an excellent job of delivering a tale of such grand proportions so completely and in so few pages.

1️⃣ Probably ‘Magic Mountain‘, ‘Madeline‘, ‘Sesame Street‘, ‘Barney‘... Too many! 🦁🐥🦖
2️⃣ Traveling, getting a tattoo ✈️
3️⃣ At the moment, I either pick something from my popsugar list or read my book club read.. no time for anything else! 📚
4️⃣ ‘A Man Called Ove‘. I really thought it would be overrated but I absolutely loved it.

It‘s been a looong day for what was supposed to be a ‘holy‘ Thursday (jk, nothing is sacred in sales 🙄). So it‘s currently 3am and I‘m cheating and killing 2 prompts with 1 post! 😜
#LetYouLoveMe reminds me of this book as Julie lets R try to love her despite the unfortunate circumstances they both face. By the end of the novel they also #fall in love with each other as fate (or Marion) would have it. 🧟♂️
