I'm Traveling Alone | Samuel Bjork

I read this in one sitting yesterday. Super addictive and well paced. The only tiny thing (if I'm being nit picky!) is that I wanted more! I wanted to know more about Mia, more about the team & their interactions, more about Holger, more more more! I already preordered the next book.

I'M NOT READING THIS BOOK but rather Death & Relaxation by the same author- it's not in Litsy & self published. Mentioned by Ilona Andrews on FB! Reminds me a bit of a cozy mystery world but it's PNR. It's keeping me entertained while my bathroom is being redone. Ps: bath tub = best place to read!

Saruh Did you upgrade to the Voyage? I still have the v1 paper white that works perfectly, but man do I want those side buttons! 8y
Heyporkchop @Saruh I did! My only complaint is the battery but I think it's because on weekends I'll read for 8-10 hrs straight, usually by Monday its dead. 😂 8y

I really enjoyed this! Super quirky and entertaining. Nice world building. A few spots made me want more and I got mixed up a few times with the British terminology in some spots but definitely will read the next!

Still in a weird place with my reading, I think I might be trying too hard? Is that real?! 🦄 This has been on my TBR for a while & seems like a good spot to spend a Saturday!

I'm hoping this makes me LOL & gets rid of my reading slump. I DNF the previous book (new adult isn't my fav) but I *really* want to like this series. Also I joined Book of the Month Club in attempts to try something new!😬 I get to pick my first book and I can't decide!🤗

karareads Parnassus Books in Nashville has a first editions club; $100 for three months and you get a signed, first edition book mailed to you each month. Could be a good way to find new books! And the shop is owned by Ann Patchett who gives me all of the 😍😍😍😍😍. 8y
laurel_langworthy I have a hard time with NA too. Hope this takes you out of your slump! 8y
sarahgreatlove Oh my gosh I'm suffering severe jealousy for people who live in America. Only because of that book club in Nashville. I'm content to be on the other side of the world for many other reasons!😂 8y

I've downloaded and started 8 books but nothing is grabbing me! 😳 I'm hoping I can get sucked into this book for a few hours tonight. I just want to get obsessed with a good chunky series with great characters and magic and writing that makes me forget everything around me! 🙌🏼 Reading slumps = 😝

sarahgreatlove Have you read the winners series by Marie rutkoski? I just finished the finale. They're not change-your-entire-world books but the characters are engaging and they're very hard to put down. 8y
Gulfskye I hate reading slumps especially after a stretch of really good books. I picked up a few books in Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Series at the used bookstore last week. I think Kitty and the Midnight Hour is the first book. 8y
SwayBug I'm in a reading slump myself, simply can't get into the new Joe Hill despite the intriguing premise. 8y

LisaReads I hate reading slumps! ☹️Hope your able to get out of it soon!! 8y
HeatherB I'm still trying to find something to hold my attention after ACOMAF. Can't stop thinking about Rhysand, he's at the top of my book boyfriend list now. 8y
Saruh I've been in such a reading slump too!! They're totally not good for mental wellbeing. 😂 8y

I flew through this yesterday! SO GOOD!!!!! I love all the political intrigue, all the friendships & the relationship between Avry & Kerrick. I'm going to be sad when I finish this series! Also, those lilies kind of give me the creeps in the same way sunflowers do. 😬🌻💀

sarahgreatlove Oooo. Can't wait! 8y

After reading a bunch of Regency romance, I wanted to spend the weekend with some PNR. I realized I had stopped part way through Mead's "Succubus" & "Dark Swan" series so I thought I'd pick back up with them. I remembered why I stopped with them- I just don't love the characters & their actions. ?

I listened to this book in 2012 but read it today and can't say enough good stuff about it. Maria V. Snyder is SO good. She does such good world building, secondary characters you truly love and fierce lady leads. I haven't read the two other books in the series yet but I probably will this week!

Mamiespal Poison study is one of my favorite books of all time! I'll have to add this to my reading list. 9y
StefwithanF I'll need to check it out. 9y

I adored this series and thought I'd pick it back up. Sadly, it's not for me anymore. 😭 It just felt petty which was a super let down. Her relationship with Seth is a hot mess, she was blind to Maddie and it just wasn't my favorite. Blurb for the next book makes me think I wont continue this series

carys14 Sometimes it is so hard to break up with a series. But sometimes it just must be done. #toomanybookstoolittletime 9y

Getting ready to plunk into bed and read this! I got it from the library after seeing reviews that the physical copy is much better than digital. I'm pretty excited to read it!

Kittyvankat My coworker loved this book! Especially the physical aspects of it, the way it's printed and laid out :) 9y

Natchez Burning | Greg Iles

Goodwill was SO good to me today. Natchez Burning is one of my favorite books I've read this year & the cover is 👌🏼! I'm thrilled by this! I got KMM for my friend @Soodle and Kim Harrison is one of my favs! It was like someone donated their entire PNR shelf- tons upon tons! Hardest choices!!!

Spetzie I've read some Greg Isles books, but not this one. I'll have to check it out....as well as Harrison. I remember starting one and got distracted/disinterested when the pixie/fairy came into play. I'll give it another shot. 📚 9y
HeatherB I love the Fever series! I can't wait until the Feversong book launch in NOLA in Jan! It's going to be so much fun and it was announced Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter will be there too! 😆 9y
Kittyvankat My husband just got a job at Value Village and he gets a huge discount!!! Guess where I'm going book shopping!? 9y

Saruh Oh nice! I binged the Fever series back in 2011, but haven't been too pleased with the last two releases. 9y
Soodle Such a great score! I love KMM and am so happy to have these beautiful books in my dead tree library!!! 9y
caseyplusthree I fell for the Fever series earlier this year! I stopped at Iced though 8y
Gulfskye Nice score! The Fever series is one of my all time favorites! I think I've read Natchez Burning. I have liked all of his books that I've read. And Kim Harrison is a fave too! 8y

I read this book today and while it had a few eye roll moments, I enjoyed it! The heroine is described as very curvy and one scene she gets new lingerie and loves how it makes her feel. As a big person, nothing makes you feel more confident than lingerie that fits! I 💗details like that in a book.

Gulfskye I enjoy Sarah Maclean books! Eloisa James too. 9y

I read this today and enjoyed it. I liked the opening scene between the two characters- both of them "not hiding". I'm not quite sure parts of it were super believable but it was clever and different! The banter between the brothers/cousins was super fun too.

I'm torn between like & so-so! I loved the descriptions of the park, the atmosphere, I liked the story but I wasn't too sure if I liked Anna. It doesn't really matter- I enjoyed it enough to request the next book from the library! 😂

Gulfskye I liked it but something about the story or the main character left me feeling kind of meh. But I have read more of this series. 9y
Heyporkchop @Gulfskye agreed! how far along in the series are you? 9y
Gulfskye I'm not sure because I read them out of order. I read the first one not too long ago and decided maybe I should start the series from the beginning. I enjoyed the later books in the series. 9y
Gulfskye I try not to judge any series based on my feelings about the first book because while it can be good, first books in a series can be tedious setting up the world and character background. Sometimes the plot drags due to information overload. 9y

HeatherB It was so good! I agree 100% with you. I want the next book right now! 9y

Spetzie I need to read this series! 9y
Heyporkchop @Saruh right?! This book maybe is one of my favorites! @carys14 I hope you like it! @Spetzie you totally should! I liked the first one but I LOVED this one! 9y
sarahgreatlove OMG. SO glad you liked it. I haven't read it yet but unbelievably they actually have it already in NZ so I hopefully I'll be able to read it soon! I loved the first one. She's so great. 9y

I loved the writing style and found it entertaining and compelling. But I didn't enjoy the story. This is a 2-3 star book for me.

darcisews Have you read her Travis brothers series?!?! One of my absolute favorites. First book is Sugar Daddy. 9y
