Have to use my #signedsundays to continue celebrating Wakanda and Black Panther. If you haven‘t read this side title, make a point to do so! It is a rich and powerful story of two Dora Milage caught between Love and duty. #wakandaforever
Fresh arrival in our collection for #signedsundays!
Exceedingly grateful for the maps in this book. I feel like my US History classes never filled in much geographical information from the South.
Just a quick #signedsundays post today, because I just finished this beautiful novel but need more time to formulate a review!
After a great event tonight with Lawrence O‘Donnell, I‘ve completed my MSNBC prime time line up! #signedbooks #liberallibrary
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Katy Tur speak about this book from the well of the replica US Senate Chamber at the EMK Institute. #bookevents #booksignings #politics #imwithtur
Great signing tonight with EJ Dionne. This book sounds great!
Today's #signedsundays post brought to you by the free book cart at my local library. Can't believe it was a signed copy of Sotomayor's memoir. Seems like the perfect time to celebrate a great Puerto Rican American 🇵🇷
Best dedication in any Star Wars book. Delilah Dawson brings serious nerd cred to this Galaxy.
...and with a #signedsundays post, my litsy life-cycle with this book is complete!
I haven't felt so invested in a series and its hero since my first pass through Harry Potter. This is set in a rich world and though it clocks in at over 650 pages, it didn't seem like nearly enough. On to book two!
There's no better feeling than moving a bookmark through a fat book at a quick pace! I am really enjoying the tale of Kvothe.
This book is a really wonderful treat, with a great mix of history, behind the scenes action, and reverence for the play at its focus. It seems undoubtably that Hamilton will mark our era in arts and culture when viewed through the lens of history, and I am grateful for the book for letting me feel like I was in the room where it happens (sorry).
This is going to be powerful, but it might not be pleasant. I am very excited to see where Coates takes this. #arc
It's been great hearing Al Gore making the rounds for his new film. Amazing that he is so driven and committed to a cause! He is the fastest signer I have ever seen, passing books quickly and completing about 300 in under an hour. #signedsundays
I had the privilege of recording an episode of the Wampa's Lair podcast where I geek out about some literary ways to approach the films! I would love to have Litsy users listen!

my personal ARC fairy @rachel_mbc gifted me with 1036 pages of nerdy goodness today. So excited!!! #arc #history #chernowisgod
Been meaning to use this one for a #signedsundays post for a while. This is such a fantastic read and a must for bookish nerds!
We finally got our little free library up and running!
This book was fantastic. It was a pitch-perfect mix of humor and politics with an underlying message of hope and progress throughout. Franken gets to the heart of public service and demonstrates that while you don't need to know everything to run for office, if you win, you better spend every minute you can filling in what you have missed.
I have been really enjoying this book. Now I love it.
Loved this first volume of World of Wakanda and I hope Marvel reconsiders its decision not to continue the series. Roxane Gay signed this Wednesday night, and said it was the first copy of the trade she had seen. So at least for the one night, this #signedsundays book was one of a kind!
I took a long strange journey through this book, having read about half before the election and then putting it down in the wake of Trumpism. I picked it up again this week to avoid a #DNF. Although even Dionne would admit he got a few of his projections wrong, this is still an interesting and detailed read that can help liberals, conservatives, and independents all a lesson on how we got where we are.
I really wanted to like this more, but in the end, I found it rather...meh. The overall plot has good pacing and momentum as the two plots slowly entwine. But after the slow burn of anticipation, the ending feels like a wisp of smoke. But most troublingly, the book has a clear male gaze problem, only developing women through what they mean to the men. This is the Weiner who created Don Draper, not the one who created Peggy Olson.
A fresh one for #signedsundays! I met Timothy Zahn yesterday and had a great time needing out about Rebels, Force Awakens, and Thrawn. He is a really nice man, and this is an excellent Star Wars book. One of the top entries in the new canon!
This was such a surprising treat! Chabon published this excerpt from Moonglow in support of Indie Bookstore Day. I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to return to the Grandfather character and it worked surprisingly well as a short story. If you read Moonglow, score a copy of this! (They were all signed too...delayed #signedsundays)
So excited to see this character back in Star Wars canon, and this book was a worthy entry. Shan is back in top form and Thrawn emerges from Legends changed, but ultimately the same. The book is askew burn in all the best ways, but definitely one of the top books in the new canon. Welcome back, Grand Admiral!
Finished this wonderful novel today. This is Whitehead at his most intimate, finding a moment of lingering childhood amidst adolescent pressures and celebrating it in the glory of summer. The mix of nostalgia, angst, and hope will resonate deeply with anyone who has watched embers die in a summer bonfire or coasted lazily down the cracked pavement of a small town #signedsundays
This is an absolutely stunning book that shows the brilliance and creativity that art can have in mourning, healing, and celebrating. I recommend taking it in small doses (sip, don't gulp) to let each entry mellow a bit. But, there are countless examples of truly moving tributes and very few that felt like "misses." But, don't borrow, the proceeds go to the victims' families and friends
I love this "remix" of Whitman in this collection. Far more than any of the commercials that have stolen him of late #songif@yself #loveislove
I picked up this galley because I am a big fan of Politically Reactive (a podcast), and I found that this maintained the same tone and perspective of the show: a realism about race and politics in America, but humor that helps take the sting out of dark truths. I was surprised to find so much content on his rise and the chances he took to be a stand-up. I definitely recommend it, plus the author's note promised more Trump reactions in the final!!
I am really enjoying this so far. Each artist took only a page or two, but they created really moving tributes to the Orlando victims. It is wonderful to see such collaboration and love.
Simply put, this book is fantastic. Using a great mix of history, memoir, and firsthand reporting, Hayes presents a detailed case for understanding the inequalities in modern policing through colonial policy. By far the best part is an opening section where he reads the conflict in Ferguson through the politics of the American Revolution, demonstrating that the patriotic American spirit is alive in the hearts of the oppressed. Don't miss it!
Bought this book for my little Palawan and already am charmed by the Katie Cook artwork!
Nixon trying to block Miranda Rights.
Less than 50 pages in and I can already tell this is going to be a powerful experience!
One of my all-time favorite authors. Hearing him read this book was a true pleasure that I always remember fondly. Although it didn't end up being one of my favorites of his, hearing his voice captivated me into the world of the novel. #signedsundays
Really excited to pick up a nice volume of poetry in this bleak weekend of storms! This award-winning volume has a nice touch of nostalgia and hope in its meditations on loss.
