I hadn't bought anything from Thriftbooks in quite a while, but this addict might have fallen off the wagon again. Latest haul brings me a few more titles in the Hap & Leonard series, and a few other titles I've had my eye on.

It's bits like this that are exactly why I love the Hap and Leonard series. Maybe I have an immature sense of humor but I am not ashamed.
I read mostly mystery/thrillers. So sometimes it's nice to dig into a book like this as kind of a palate cleanser. I like this one a lot, and it's a reminder that I can occasionally enjoy a good love story just as much as murder and mayhem.
Ordered this book on Amazon today. It sounds great and seems to be getting a lot of positive reviews. I was disappointed that it wasn't available on Kindle and I had to drop over $30 for the hardcover, but I'm excited to read it nonetheless.
Almost five years ago I started THE BLACK ECHO, the very first book in the Harry Bosch Universe. Thirty-six books later, I'm starting RESURRECTION WALK. Feels weird to be almost current on Connelly's series after reading about seven of his books per year.
Starting my first new release of 2024. Looks like it will be an exciting one!
"When a high security prison fails, a down-on-his luck cop and the governor‘s daughter are going to have to team up if they‘re going to escape in this "jaw-dropping, authentic, and absolutely gripping" (Harlan Coben, #1 New York Times bestselling author) debut thriller"
"People can change if they want to, but the sad truth is that humans are hardwired to be prejudiced. It's passed down from ancestors who were just trying to figure out what to fear and what to hunt. We learned to separate things into good and bad, and that particular human frailty is alive and well in every one of us. It's not a matter of IF we have prejudices - we do. It's a matter of understanding those instincts and fighting against them."
I don't read a lot in the romance genre, but I am a music junkie, so I thought I'd give this one a shot. Hopefully it's more Daisy Jones & the Six and less 50 Shades of Grey.
Reading Lehane's latest and loving it. Mary Pat is the most bad-ass female character I've seen in crime fiction in a real long time.
I'm not in space, but I am 30,000+ feet up in the air. I'm also wearing a red shirt. This could be bad...
Enjoying the last couple days of a week-long trip at the Sandals resort in Curacao!
If you haven't read this yet, get it now while it's $1.99 on Kindle! Great book and that price is a steal!
I knew I had to grab this one on Kindle when I saw it was getting high praise from authors such as Michael Connelly, Dennis Lehane, Harlan Coben and S.A. Cosby (some of my favorites). Two chapters in and I can already tell that this is going to be one of the best noir novels I've read in quite a while.
I read a lot of time-travel fiction, and this is definitely one of the better ones. This is the book that I wanted The Midnight Library to be. That one left me feeling underwhelmed, but this one was much more worthwhile.
This will undoubtedly be one of my most anticipated reads of 2023. I'm a huge S.A. Cosby fan, and the synopsis I got off Goodreads sounds amazing!

Saw a comment from Blake Crouch in regards to the 'Dark Matter' tv series that's being made. Did he just say 'first book'? Is Dark Matter getting a sequel?
One of my most anticipated books of the year. I love the Beartown series and I'm sad that it's coming to an end, but I can't wait to dive into this one!
I'm a total time-travel junkie, so hopefully this one doesn't disappoint!
If you haven't read this yet, now's the time to get it. Only $2.99 for one of the best books of 2021!
1. Tagged. I purchased a different book on Kindle (The Sacrifice of Lester Yates) and this came up as a similar title and it sounded good!
2. Currently, The Heavens May Fall, but I'm reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow and Tomorrow right now and it's phenomenal!
3. Austin TX, Panama City Beach FL, Las Vegas NV (I'm not well traveled lol)
@Eggs
My wife must love me. She assembled these shelves for my new home office. These are just my TBR shelves. I might have a problem.
Kinda shocked that this one has fallen under Litsy's radar. For any ladies that think this might not be for them, take into account that Alex Temblador is a female, as is the main character. When I read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be a must-read for me. I loved Sons of Anarchy, so hopefully this has a similar vibe. I tried looking for other motorcycle club themed books, but sadly, most results led to erotica. Oh well, lol.
Going to start on this one today. It's been getting TONS of love, so hopefully it lives up to the hype!
Eskens knocks it out of the park again with this one. An outstanding legal thriller, and for good reason - Eskens was a criminal defense attorney for nearly 30 years. Can't wait to read the next installment in this series!
Happy to see this deal on Kindle this morning! I'm a sci-fi addict and this has been on my TBR all year, so to grab it at this price was a steal!
Going back and forth on which should be my next read. I'm a huge fan of both authors and confident I will enjoy both of them, but one has got to come first. Any suggestions?
This one has gotten a few negative reviews on Litsy, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't the post-apocalyptic fight for survival that I thought it would be. The worldwide blackout serves more as the backdrop to the story, and I think that actually served the book quite well. It's not perfect of course. There were parts of the story that were probably unnecessary, but overall it was an enjoyable read.
An amazing deal right now on Kindle for the second book in the Beartown trilogy. Only $2.99 for the next several days. If you haven't read Beartown or Us Against You, I can't recommend them enough. Fredrik Backman is definitely one of my MUST-READ authors. Get this one before the final installment of the trilogy, The Winners, is released on September 27th!
Imagine you die and wake up in another reality where your personal life is exponentially better. You are loved. You are rich. 9/11 never happened. Trump has never been president and is locked up in prison. Sounds great right? Well, shit spirals out of control real fast, and I don't mean that in a good way.
I went into this with high expectations, and maybe that was part of my problem. Concept was great but the execution was not.
I'm a sucker for novels involving parallel universes, so this one drew me in, and it didn't even need a half naked girl on the cover, but that certainly didn't hurt! 😄🤣
"We don't have an intelligence problem. We have a compassion problem. That, more than any other single factor, is what's driving us toward extinction."
This was a bit of a disappointment. I'm convinced it's as popular as it is for 3 reasons: 1) McNamara died before she could finish it, 2) She was married to a celeb who ensured the book got finished and received plenty of publicity, and 3) the killer was caught shortly after the book's release.
If McNamara were still alive, this book probably would never have been a bestseller. She's a talented writer, but this book is kind of a mess.
Did I mention that I absolutely love Thriftbooks? Got some more goodies today. Now I just have to figure out what I am going to do about shelf space.
Thriftbooks has been an absolute ADDICTION for me this year. The problem is that it has increased my ability to purchase books at a faster rate than I can read them. Oh well, there are worse addictions to have, I suppose!
