Time spent taking nephew to skating rink is well spent when I take my Kindle Paperwhite along.
Book mail! Thanks! #williammorrowpublishing
I have company while I read. Do I have to read book 1 first? I could..but this has the Eiffel tower and a skull. #catsoflitsy #eiffeltower
After 4-5 failed attempts, I have successfully completed this book. The first half was completely too long and drawn out. I think you could tear the book in half and throw it away and begin in the middle. From there witches, vampires, ghosts and demons along with a house, history and time travel kept me completely glued to the book. Simply cannot wait to read the next book in the trilogy. Why did I wait so long? #witches
Highly recommend. The description doesnt even begin to describe the depth of this book. It draws you right in. I loved it so much.
Awww..who could disturb that sweetness? #catsoflitsy
The cover is beautiful.
It came today! Housekeeping has officially ended. #stmartinspress #goodreadswin #girlsqueal
Got this yesterday as a goodreads win. The cover is just so serene and tranquil. Of course its one of those weekends with lots of family farm chores. Excited to start it.
You saw this right?
How come no one told me about bookloons.com? Just found out and thought I would share. No one sign up for the book contests I want to win please. 😃
This one is on sale today if you haven't read it yet!
Stolen from somewhere on Facebook. It's just so appropriate.
Not listed. Published March 1, 2018. Won on goodreads and it's awesome. It's ranks up there with Lilac Girls. Don't question reading this book.
I just love Anne Rices witches and their habitat of New Orleans. Made a trip there just to stand in front of her home that was used as the Mayfair house. Yes, there were pictures. @mrozzz #cleartheshelves Thank you!
Rory Docherty returns home from the Korean war with a missing leg to run whiskey and live with Granny May in the mountains of North Carolina. He has Ron ins with the sheriff, other runners and a snake church. He is a character men would love.
Granny May is a former whore turned healer who forages for leaves, roots and herbs. I particularly liked her and her story except for her age of 54 and it being considered so old (I'm 54) And feeble ish.
Loved it. The authors writing was intellectual and delightful. I was interested in all the characters and intend to look for more by this author.
Celestial and Roy are starting their storybook lives together when Roy is mistakenly accused of rape. Roy is sentenced to twelve years. They try to hold on to their young marriage by communicating with letters. Celestial builds a new life while Roy's is put on hold.
I'm so pleased with my 1435 page count, 3 full books and 2 partial books for my first thon. This also raises my books for the year to 12/100. I didnt manage my time well and read for only 23.5 hours. It's a tough challenge but super fun. Can't wait to try again! #24in48
16:42 #24in48 sitting in the beautiful sunshine and enjoying the farm animals while listening.
Good Morning! #24in48 #shelfshame #stillhaventread
Failed to adequately prepare a stopwatch. Lost 20 minutes by the screensaver. Hubs will be up soon. He will surely help with that problem. #24in48
Love. Love. Love. Couldn't put it down, totally devoured in one day. Even though the main character, Morgana, couldn't speak, she was totally charming and likable. This was a perfect witch book for me.
I don't know why I haven't read this vamp book before and why isn't there a sequel yet? It was very original without the lovey dovey romanticism. Loved it.
"In Alaska you can make one mistake. One. The second one will kill you."
Wonderful family drama. Fantastic read. I was up all night! #thegirlfriendGreatAlone
At 30% I wanted to be done with it. Wasn't in the mood to read about teenage girls growing up. By 100% I was breathless.
This story is about 12 year old moth who struggles to break free of the post civil war New York slums. Her mother sells her as a lady's maid for a bag of coins to an abusive home. Moth escapes and finds herself being trained by a madame looking to sell her virginity.
This is the second book I have read by this author and i won't hesitate to read another. Her descriptive imagery draw you in and hold you until the very end. Thanks Ms Mckay.
Its a cuddle and read day. Two dogs and a cat sitting with me. My big Himalayan boy Falkor with Tink at my feet.
Hannah Casey and her daughter Jazz moved back home to live with her mom when she found her husband cheating with their long time friend. Hanna took a job as a librarian which included driving a book mobile around the Irish countryside. Its a pleasantly cute novel of Hannah's own awakening as she helps the town stand against developers.
This book was so good. I didnt realize until it came on sale who the author was. It's not the typical vampire book but yet it has stayed with me 5+ years.
Samantha Kofer, the protagonist, is required to intern for a year with a nonprofit to keep her seniority and health benefits at the prestigious law firm that has just laid her off. After ten rejections due to the recession, she is welcomed in coal country in Brady, Virginia. This shows the reader strip mining, black lung disease and other ugly coal mining realities. It was easy to read but i kept wanting something to happen.
Waking up to pick the next book. I love just looking at book collections #tbrtuesday #bookpile #whatsonyourshelf
The end of the world arrives with the heart attack of the famous actor Arthur Leander during a stage performance of King Lear. The story follows the path of several characters that are involved in Arthurs life and how they dealt with a deadly flu outbreak. I enjoyed the writing style of this author and the partcular way the story unfolds. I didnt 'see' the cover until the story was finished.
Although I could have devoured this book in one sitting, it took me three days of savouring. Its an end of the world book by one of my favorite authors. 80% of the population has died and some of the survivors developed magical powers. This causes opposing groups as well as the government searching for survivors to be tested. I cant wait for the next book in the series.
I smell the coffee! Its time to get up and read!
I wasn't ready for another circus book. This book was just so amazing and kept me glued to my seat trying to guess the ending. I loved it so much i read Ms. Wisemans other three books.
