Can you out run your past?

A story about taking responsibility for your actions, forgiveness, and starting over.

A clean, easy YA read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great verse novel — this one dealing with gun violence and two families having to deal with the repercussions. Slotting this in for #teenread on the #575PMRChallenge which reminded me that I hadn‘t updated my #Booked2020 reads in awhile and I keep forgetting to tag books. 😬 Luckily I remembered to check cause this was a #Newin2020 #Fall read and here is my chart to share some of my other entries!

Cinfhen I love your graph/chart !!!!!! Thanks for sharing your progress!!! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Lovely bright colors on your spreadsheet. I do this for my reading each year too. It‘s the only way I can sort it all out. 🤓 5y
bibliobard @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks! I modeled it after the one for the #BBRC and then decided I wanted to make it pretty. I am obviously still bad about updating it — but at least it is easy to manage when I do remember. 5y

I'd say the author had a grasp on what it feels like to be the outcast in the "popular" group. The prose was almost like poetry in that it flowed but was not forceful. I only had an issue with the way the whole "secret" was kept from the reader when this was written in first person. Overall, an ok teen angst read. #litsyAtoZ #letterG #teenread #teenfiction #yafiction #grit #matthewlaurence #arc #depression #special

I remember reading this book when I was like 13 and I really loved it, so I tracked down a copy (you'd be surprised at how difficult it was to find one in Tucson) and finished it that same night. Wasn't quite as good as I remembered it but still has an interesting plot and it was relatively entertaining, some of the characters are frustrating though...teen me would probably give it an 8/10...present me gives it a 6/10..#teenread

"They shatter and rebuild, shatter and rebuild, shatter and rebuild until they are old and worn and stooped from the work of it." Somehow this is hopeful to me. #lovethebook #teenread

This isn't a pretty curated picture. Very similar to the state of my house. I stayed in my pajamas and read most of the day. 🙈😐 A decent sequel in the series that I raced through in preparation for my audio version of book 3. #booktober #pajamaday #yeswaycabernet #wineoclock #ya #teenread
