It took me a while to figure out where this book was going. But it was full of real emotions and visceral reactions. Not the best, but a good read.

This book started really slooooow. Darcy, the protagonist, is spinning out of control and no one knows exactly why. Why is she acting out and what happened to a missing girl from town? The book, as expected, pulls the answer to these questions into one story. The plot picked up eventually but the ending was just there. Not remarkable an any way, good or bad. It was fine. Didn't hate it but nothing to write home about.
Starting this one tonight. Reese approves 😍
When you get to work early, how better to spend the time than with some breakfast and a great book? This showed up on my Goodreads dashboard a few weeks ago, and I found it at the library - I'm LOVING it so far. (The bagel and Iced Blackberry Green Tea from Dunkin were pretty magical, too.) #grit #gillianfrench
I'd say the author had a grasp on what it feels like to be the outcast in the "popular" group. The prose was almost like poetry in that it flowed but was not forceful. I only had an issue with the way the whole "secret" was kept from the reader when this was written in first person. Overall, an ok teen angst read. #litsyAtoZ #letterG #teenread #teenfiction #yafiction #grit #matthewlaurence #arc #depression #special
