April was a good reading month, despite the slump I was experiencing during the first couple weeks. I ended up completing 9 books! 6 of those were for #575PMRChallenge. My favourites this month were Neverwhere and The Poet X. I‘m going into May with 10 books on the go (6 of those are poetry books I wasn‘t able to finish in April) so I‘m hoping to have another good month!

*3/5 of the books I chose for my poem are e-books. I can‘t do a proper #spinepoem so I made a collage of the covers instead.

Flame and shadow
High waving heather
Burning in this midnight dream
Ritual lights the way home

I don‘t know if I‘ll be able to finish reading all of these by the end of the month but I‘m going to try! #575PMRChallenge

#BookReport April 19-25,2020 Completed: 3 books, 1 DNF. I Shall Wear Midnight took awhile because most nights I‘ve been too tired to read more than a few pages. Today, for the first time in a long while, I was able to spend my day reading! It felt good to get lost in a good book 😊 The poetry books were for #575PMRChallenge. Winter Bees was short but beautifully illustrated & explained how animals (bees, rodents, snakes, etc.) survive winter.

TK-421 I didn‘t finish Into the Wild simply because I had it on loan from the library for two 3 week periods and didn‘t get past 25%. It just wasn‘t the right book right now I guess. I hope to try it again sometime. 5y

Another great verse novel — this one dealing with gun violence and two families having to deal with the repercussions. Slotting this in for #teenread on the #575PMRChallenge which reminded me that I hadn‘t updated my #Booked2020 reads in awhile and I keep forgetting to tag books. 😬 Luckily I remembered to check cause this was a #Newin2020 #Fall read and here is my chart to share some of my other entries!

Cinfhen I love your graph/chart !!!!!! Thanks for sharing your progress!!! 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Lovely bright colors on your spreadsheet. I do this for my reading each year too. It‘s the only way I can sort it all out. 🤓 5y
bibliobard @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks! I modeled it after the one for the #BBRC and then decided I wanted to make it pretty. I am obviously still bad about updating it — but at least it is easy to manage when I do remember. 5y

I‘m so behind posting what I‘ve read for #575PMRChallenge I‘m combining 2 posts. The Poet X was excellent! Some parts were so heartbreaking I wept💔 How to Eat a Poem was good; a collection aimed at young readers. Many poems were familiar to me (Annabel Lee, Hope is the Thing With Feathers, This is Just to Say, Casey at the Bat) but some I had never read before. I loved being introduced to some new poetry! Next up is Leonard Cohen‘s The Flame.

Late #WeeklyForecast April 19-25, 2020
I finished one book already (How to Eat a Poem) so yay! Into the Wild is due back to the library this week & I‘m not sure if I‘ll renew it. I‘m hoping to focus on The Flame because it‘s one of my picks for #575pmrchallenge. I might finish I Shall Wear Midnight if I can fit in some extra reading at bedtime. My hold for The Ocean at the End of the Lane audiobook just came in so I‘m excited about that!

Cinfhen I‘ve heard good things about 5y
