I‘ll be starting this book later today, possibly tomorrow. A #BuddyRead and #SummerChunkster with @Kalalalatja ❤️ Two trusted Littens have sung this King novel‘s praises, so expectations are high🤭

I made #NoExcuses at book club tonight, as I bravely copped to the bail 😉Only one person liked the book, every one else hated it!!! And we finally choose our first half of next year‘s reads...Guess which one was my pick?!?! #BookClubPicks
I don‘t know if this can count as a #plottwist, but the narrative twist in the middle of this book had me like 😱😱

Breakfast and a new book. I‘m getting started early on #freakyfriday because I can‘t help myself and because I‘ve been wanting to read this one!
This NEEDS to be a movie, similar to Hidden Figures where I thought the book failed in parts but the movie was fantastic because the story was so incredible. I was livivid over the greed, arrogance and cruelty shown to these young girls who suffered so terribly but my disappointment in the overburdened storytelling and lack of focus took away some of my interest. This was an ambitious story but I would have preferred less. Thanks #Hoopla
The beauty of this book besides it‘s hilarity is how relatable Scaachi Koul is. She‘s a thirty something single girl of Indian descent, I‘m a 50 something Jewish wife & mother and yet, Scaachi‘s family could easily be mine 😊Her parents, Indian immigrants were my favorite part of this collection as I recognized so much of my own parents in their overwhelming love and sense of family & tradition. Easy to read with some real insight❣️❣️❣️
My February stats are 10 books read. It‘s possible (although not probable) that I‘ll bring my total to 11 by the end of tonight. My 🥇 for this month is, without a shadow of a doubt, The Great Alone. I can‘t say enough about how much I loved it. ♥️♥️♥️

I've posted about this book before but if you like dark books, this is a #mustread
It‘s time for a confession. I‘m bailing on The Power. I gave it 100 pages, but I had two major issues with it. The first was that I just didn‘t find it well written. The writing had almost a YA feel to it. Maybe it‘s just me. 🤷🏼♀️ Then I realized I also just didn‘t care for the story. Margot‘s storyline was somewhat fascinating to me, but I didn‘t care for the other two. I realized I was just dreading picking it up. #botm #botmchallenge 55/60
