I don‘t know if this can count as a #plottwist, but the narrative twist in the middle of this book had me like 😱😱

#Aprella

Reviewsbylola I hated this one. 😂😬 So funny because @emilyhaldi LOVED it and gave it five stars. 7y
LauraBeth I LOVED this book! 7y
Cathythoughts I loved this one 👍🏻❤️ 7y

KarenUK @Reviewsbylola I‘m definitely on #teamemily and #teamlaurabeth with this one but I think @cinfhen is on #teamsteph ! @laurabeth @emilyhaldi 7y
Mdargusch Oh for sure! That was a big twist. 7y
emilyhaldi Yes!!! Glad to have such a solid team @LauraBeth @Cathythoughts @KarenUK I actually want to read this one again.... amazing plot twist 🙌🏻 7y
erzascarletbookgasm Interesting. Mixed reviews. Still tbr. 7y
Cinfhen As much as I hated this book, I haven‘t forgotten it at all!!! And there were a few more plot twists towards the end.... so that counts for something but I‘m definitely with @Reviewsbylola on this one🙌🏻 7y
BarbaraBB @Cinfhen Can I join you and @Reviewsbylola 😀?! 7y
Kalalalatja I‘m with you @emilyhaldi @LauraBeth @Cathythoughts @KarenUK I LOVED it! But somehow I‘m not surprised @Reviewsbylola, @BarbaraBB and @Cinfhen didn‘t 😄😄 @erzascarletbookgasm I can only recommend reading it! 👍 7y
Cinfhen Always room for another #Hater 🤣😂😉 @BarbaraBB 💗😘 7y

Yesterday I read a review by @britt_brooke about the Sherman Alexis memoir and while I‘m loving this book, Britt wasn‘t a fan. One of her legitimate gripes was the repetitiveness of the memoir. I came upon this “I repeat the same words, sentences, and paragraphs. That‘s what happens. Great pain is repetitive. Grief is repetitive. And, maybe, this repetition can become a chant inside a healing ceremony.” I believe this helps explain his process

BarbaraTheBibliophage Yes, I have experienced that with tremendous grief. I‘ve really got to get to this book in 2018. 7y
Cinfhen It‘s wonderful @BarbaraTheBibliophage really cathartic, honest, open, lyrical, funny, sad 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen I‘ll find a time for it. Definitely. 7y

Reviewsbylola Interesting that he explained it. But I‘m typically bored by repetition. (edited) 7y
britt_brooke Oh, I know. I‘ve read his comments on it. I appreciate his grief and healing process, but it doesn‘t mean I have to like the book. I still don‘t like that style. Not gonna convince me. 😝 I‘m completely okay being the one weirdo that doesn‘t like it. 😉 7y
Cinfhen Definitely not a weirdo😘😘😘 @britt_brooke just in case you skimmed some pages and missed this😉 7y
TrishB That one is consigned to sad NF I won‘t be reading! 7y
emilyhaldi Very interesting. Makes sense in terms of dealing with grief, but I‘m not sure that means I would want to read it as an outsider 🤔 @britt_brooke 7y
britt_brooke @Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi I‘m going to need you guys to read it just so we know if you‘re #teambritt or #teamcindy. 😝😉🙃 7y
emilyhaldi Lol @britt_brooke that‘s a fair challenge!! #stacked 😉 7y
Cinfhen I found it deeply moving but then I‘m an old lady and you three are little spring chicks 🐥 🐥 🐥 @britt_brooke @emilyhaldi @Reviewsbylola 7y
britt_brooke @emilyhaldi 😆👏🏻 7y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen Honestly, I think I‘m the only person who hasn‘t loved this book, so I won‘t be surprised if it stays that way. Also, you‘re not an old lady!! 7y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen PS. I‘m glad we can mess with each other in good fun. 💚 (edited) 7y
Mdargusch If I didn‘t have such a big TBR I would weigh in as another old lady @Cinfhen @emilyhaldi @Reviewsbylola and @britt_brooke 7y
teebe This has a wider context too: a lot of Indigenous cultures are oral cultures. Repetition is a necessary part of oral storytelling, otherwise stories are forgotten, and one of the things Alexie is known for is combining traditional storytelling with Western written forms. (edited) 7y
Cinfhen I didn't want to label you @Mdargusch but I was hoping you'd read this book and back me up!!! I'm pretty sure @Reviewsbylola will be a #HATER but I'm counting @emilyhaldi to throw some love my way 💖💖💖and I totally agree @britt_brooke I love to #AgreeToDisagree with you😘😘 7y
Cinfhen Very true @teebe 💗 7y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen 💚💚💚 7y

Untitled Rothfuss 3 Of 3 | Patrick Rothfuss

The man boasted about having all 3 installments written. He tore apart GRRM for his untimely book releases. He's all over Twitter and comic con. He's everywhere. But home writing. We have officially hit 10 years waiting for the conclusion to the kingkiller chronicles. I do not follow the author anymore. He's proven to be both rude and arrogant. Which I could let go...if he actually wrote. Am I alone in this? #hater #notafan #wheresourending

thegirlwiththelibrarybag This is a a series that I feel I'd love but I'm also wary of series that have no end date... oh for authors that release every year or two like clockwork! I'm not on twitter but rudeness would rub me up the wrong way too... 8y
LazyLibrary @thegirlwiththelibrarybag He is actually very rude, I'm surprised he has any fans left. The first book was great, the second so-so. Maybe the third bombed and he got stuck in a corner? I picked up the series 10 years ago bc of the promised release dates. It was his main selling point after all! Now I'm hearing the whisper of a TV series??? No! Nope! No way! 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag It's definitely a series that is highly spoken of... maybe the hype got to him? I've heard of the tv show too... only because I follow Lin Manuel Miranda on fb (I think his tweets also post on fb?) and he mentioned it awhile back. I often don't like knowing too much about authors/actors - if they're awful in real life it can spoil ones enjoyment of their work... 8y

annkuch13 He spends a lot of his time working on charity. A lot of his time is also spent with his two little boys. He's said that he doesn't want to miss them growing up because of the pressures of writing. Still sucks to wait though. 8y
annkuch13 He's also talks about mental health a lot and has some issues that make it really hard to consider something a finished product. He's obsessive about revisions and editing. Though I think he's in the editing phase of book 3 finally so there's hope haha 8y
LazyLibrary @annkuch13 Totally understand OCD and anxiety. Especially with art and writing. But he boasted about his completed works. Bragged how he wouldn't have to deal with the pressures of writing. Criticized other authors for taking too long. And unfortunately created an expectation with his fans. Which is what stuck with readers. It definitely stuck with me. 10 years!!!! Had it not been advertised as completed, I know I wouldn't feel the same. 8y
LazyLibrary I was 23 when I read book 1...23! I don't think the same or feel the same. Now it's 10 years later, I don't remember the book at all, and I see him everywhere!!! I feel like if we added all his tweets together it would equal book 3 by now! we all have different levels of patience and I think I'm just reaching mine 😂but I did good! I got through 7 seasons of pretty little liars, so that should tell you I have the patience of a saint! 8y
annkuch13 @LazyLibrary Lol yes that is 7 intense seasons of patience haha! 8y
Ke633 #same 🙄 FINISH IT!! 😞 truly enjoyed the first two but I'm starting to doubt he'll ever give us a 3rd. 7y
