For this month's #subjectofthemonth #truestories I listened to The Princess Diarist by and read by Carrie Fisher. She was really entertaining. While most of the book dealt with her affair with Harrison Ford, there were some interesting tidbits about her working on Star Wars 🚀

HONY: Stories are people‘s sharing something personal of themselves with photographer Brandon Stanton captured on the streets of NYC.
“I‘m an opera singer.”
“What‘s the highest note you can hit?”
“An F-sharp.”
“What does that sound like?”

I enjoyed this book about searching for a legend and the man who was searching for the legend - Fawcett and Z. The story went back and forth between the old and new quest. Never realized how obsessed people are and have been with Fawcett. Fawcett and his family were I obsessed as well. The intriguing part was that Grann got to study diaries others didn‘t get to read. Quick, easy read, enlightening and made me want to learn more!
Last month I read 13 books. This House is Haunted & Cappuccinos, Cupcakes & a Corpse were my favorites.
For #monthofBoyne I read A Ladder to the Sky & This House is Haunted. Both were good. For #subjectofthemonth which was historical fiction I meant to read Hunting Prince Dracula (which I haven't finished yet) but This House is Haunted works for that. Also I didn't get around to Crippen by Boyne which I still mean to.
A good month though 😺
It‘s no secret that I really enjoyed this one. It has all the things I love in a good story. I also found myself googling a lot, to see what might be true and what might be fiction. I was hoping Miriam was a real person. Not a full 5🌟, but it came really close. I had a big Ann question that wasn‘t answered.

I like the time period up until the world wars. 1500s to 1900, probably. I also like it when real events and people are part of the plot, like Sansom and Bowen do it. Follett is also amazing. So many good authors out there! I also prefer series. I like to dig deep! Also exploring new to me authors I want to, no need to, read! #subjectofthemonth #historicalfiction
I love the “embroidery” at the beginning of every chapter. And I love this book.
