This was really good, I was into it. Steampunk Red Riding Hood where “Little Red” fights werewolves, vampires, and monsters alike. Super fast paced and action packed. My only complaint was that it wasn‘t longer! Will definitely keep reading the series and check out of some Melanie‘s other work. 4.25/5

willaful Lol, I went to see if this was on KU and it turns out I own it. 2mo

I enjoyed this 3rd installment of the series. It has some dark plot points. Definitely not a cozy mystery.

I‘m grateful that this great debut is first in a series: A Variety Palace Mystery. Walsh has given us a fascinating story, great characters, and surprising twists, particularly at the end. Set in Victorian London, the titular character, Rose, is found hanging in the Adelphi Arches. The police dismiss the death as a suicide. Minnie Ward and the private detective Albert Easterbrook investigate and find evil lurking in private men‘s clubs. Loved it!

1890 Bath, England is the setting for a story that loosely encapsulates the upper class sentiments of the era.Fancying a cosy mystery is the reason I chose this book. At the start I was pleased with my choice, It had a relaxing, interesting storyline with lots of amusing occurrences and even a little romance on offer. Unfortunately once the detective work begins the story slows, becomes somewhat dreary, elongated and uninspiring.

This is a lovely book, well written and interesting with character development and a good plot.
Nina is a forger by training but a baker by passion and when her brother tells her to go work for the handsome art critic who uncovered his work as a forger to protect them, she finds herself in a new world.
4.5/5 read for a well written and well researched historical romance that deals with a lot of issues but in a respectful and elegant way.
