#popsugar2020 This is the first year I tackled the #advanced prompts, and really enjoyed the ‘2020‘ theme (though some became a bit redundant, like “read a book where the Olympics are going to take place in 2020” !!)

Cinfhen Superstar 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 4y
BarbaraBB The advanced certainly made you read some very good books! 4y
kspenmoll What did you think of 21 truths about love? I heard the author speak when it came out & he was wonderful- genuine, funny, great story teller. (edited) 4y
KarenUK @kspenmoll I loved it! It‘s funny and clever and quirky.... but also has a hidden depth about a man, obviously dealing with depression. Definitely recommend it 👍💕 (edited) 4y

#popsugar2020 So I‘m finally finished! And this year I even did the Advanced prompts too.... (see next post)
Looking forward to doing it all again next year! 💕📚

Cinfhen Wooohoo 🥳 🙌🏻💜🍾🌈I‘m looking forward to 2021 4y
mom2bugnbee Wow! Congrats! I'm not going to finish the challenge, but I've enjoyed trying! 4y
BarbaraBB Great set of books! I finished it earlier this year (without the advanced) and am totally ready for another year! Shall we tag eachother when we finish a book? I am in need for suggestions for a lot of the prompts! 4y
KarenUK @barbarabb definitely! 👍😊 4y
kspenmoll You read some wonderful books! 4y

Such a charming, sweet book. I thought it was mostly going to be a love story but I was more delighted with the endearing friendship among the islanders. I should have read it earlier. And now I can finally watch the movie!

#PopSugar2020 A book about a book club

bluestocking.book.nerd A good-natured warning - after reading and loving the book, I actually yelled at the TV and bailed on the movie. Hope your experience with it is better! 4y
Jovy @bluestocking.book.nerd I usually prefer the book but fingers crossed on the movie! 😀 4y
Curiouser_and_curiouser I've just finished this book this week and then watch the movie. I enjoyed them both 😊 4y
Jovy @Curiouser_and_curiouser I enjoyed the movie too! 🙌🏻 4y

After I Do: A Novel | Taylor Jenkins Reid

My second TJR read and wow, this was a phenomenal book! It‘s an honest portrayal of what goes on in a long-term relationship — realistic like no other romance book I‘ve read, and still so inspiring.

“All that matters is that you open your heart, give everything you have, and keep trying.” Highly recommended.

Handmaid's Tale | Margaret Atwood

I was not prepared to be so affected by this book! My first Atwood and I must say I am impressed. It‘s disturbing and sad and totally plausible. It‘s the female version of 1984, and being a woman, this hits closer to home.

Cinfhen I agree, this book was SO GOOD!!!! 4y
SamAnne I just finished rereading--it has been years and years--in conjunction with reading the sequel The Testaments. I had forgotten just what a brilliant classic it was. I loved the set up of it being a story handed down and read in the future--highlighting the need to bear witness, tell your story as an act of protest and for those who come after. And I love Atwood's introduction in the new edition. Highly recommend the Testaments ! 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage This really is a classic now. Unlike @SamAnne I didn‘t like The Testaments nearly as much. But it‘s worth knowing the next chapters in the story. 4y
Jovy @SamAnne @BarbaraTheBibliophage I was debating if I should dive straight into The Testaments or if I should savour this first 😀 4y

Most of my December reads will be trying to finish up 3 challenges: #ReadingEurope, #USstates, and #CenturyReads. I have completed #Booked2020, #PopSugar2020, #ReadHarder2020, #mandmchallenge, #ReadwithMrBook, and #jennyis30. I've done well and I am alright with moving the rest to 21. So with that being explained, here's my tbr list for December. #BookSpinBingo #ReadNosedReindeer #WinterGames @TheAromaofBooks @StayCurious

TheAromaofBooks Yay!! Good luck!! You are knocking out those challenges!! 4y

I have to admit I only read this for a reading challenge but I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed Mattie Ross‘ bold, blunt, no-frills attitude. She‘s definitely one of the more memorable protagonists I‘ve read.

... and this also happens to work for today‘s #ForeverNovember prompt! #StartsWithT

#PopSugar2020 A Western

britt_brooke She‘s such a great character! And I loved Tartt‘s narration. 💚 4y

Murderbot is my kind of hero - snarky, awkward and unapologetic. I loved this novella and the succeeding installments! Although I have yet to get my hands on the latest one...

A good debut! The light tone and quick read is deceptive; this book packs quite a punch. I thought the narrator was spot on too.
