I am having a very slow reading week - lots of other projects going on - but FINALLY finished my first book for the #BacklistReadathon !! This wasn't my favorite Shalvis book by a long shot - it's borderline so-so for me. I liked the actual story and the characters, but way too much of this was just Maddie and Jax lusting for each other and acting like it's a horrible betrayal that the other hasn't shared all their deep-dark secrets despite the⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) fact that they've known each other TWO WEEKS. Seriously, they start making out the DAY they meet. Like you do you, but I think it's ridiculous to be mad about someone not sharing everything about their past immediately. And it's hard to have good conversations when you literally just take each other's clothes off every time you're together 🙄 I did like the set up for the series so I'm reading book 2, but this one was a little too ⬇ 2y

I think this is the author‘s writing style for me, I don‘t like those characters at the beginning of these stories. Taylor bring out the worst qualities of a human being and then...everything changes. Another one I was going to put down. I‘m glad I didn‘t. It could be boring but if you put your mood like this is the story and gossips of this band and see that some of these stories can a happen in a real band, you would like it. 3.8⭐️⬇️

Gissy Mick Rivas from Malibu Rising is mentioned in this story.
5th and last book read for #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville I‘m glad I could read all the books I owned by this author. I‘m interesting to read other two books by her but I don‘t owned them. I using this activity to read first the books I owned to low down my tbr. There are some authors that I don‘t have any book but that gives a good excuse for a book haul🤗⬇️

I don‘t know if this book or Carrie Soto is back counts for podcast inspired in #NoShameReadingChallenge2023 @nessavamusic They are similar to Sadie in the way audiobooks are performed.

I want the US cover of this book too, Am I a book holder? No!!! I‘m a book collector😜

Nessavamusic I liked this one and am looking forward to the Amazon show! 2y

JenlovesJT47 I‘ve missed you old Litsy friend! Been gone awhile but now I‘m back and you‘re one of the first people on here I had to look up and see how you‘re doing. Hope you‘re doing well and reading lots of good books! I‘m glad you‘re still here ❤️🤓 2y
Gissy @JenlovesJT47 I‘m still here and it was a lovely and wonderful surprise to see your post and Jace photo!!! He is so big, almost 5 years old, incredible! A big hug for both of you🥰 2y
JenlovesJT47 I‘m glad you‘re doing well! I also just noticed the review I was posting on and I‘m so glad you like this book! It‘s hands down my fave from the last 5 years and I can‘t wait for the show coming out this month. Your description of her characters in the first sentence is spot on. One of my favorite authors ❤️🤓 (edited) 2y

It was nice to catch back up with my favorite ka-tet. To pass the time while stuck in a storm, Roland tells the story of how he and Jamie were sent to deal with a skin-man when he was younger. And then his younger self tells the story of Tim and his journey.
I had the audiobook which King narrates himself. I highly recommend that anytime King narrates one of his own books that you pick that version 💚

Nessavamusic Love the cover 2y
TheAromaofBooks Yay!!! 2y
KathyWheeler I love when he‘s the narrator for his books. 2y
BarkingMadRead I have to listen to one of his audiobooks, I‘ve never done they before! I loved this one, it was a lot of fun, and I liked the three story lines and the way they came together! 2y

This year I'm trying to branch out on my reading & this cover is really helping. Also the story is pretty hot as well. Good girl meets bad boy, both have troubled/horrible pasts & both need each other for a better future. Mostly it's about the cover though ❤️‍🔥

I loved this book. Robin is saved from cholera by Professor Lovell. Lovell raises him to become a translater at Babel, the institute at Oxford that enchants silver to the benefit of the British Empire (the crown & the aristocracy). There Robin meets Ramy, Letty & Victoire. They become like family & then Robin meets his real half brother, who opens his eyes to the real power of Babel.

Finished this one on Thursday. This was an interesting story. It mentions fairytales and what usually happens in the tales. Marra lives at a nunnery and is very naive. She learns her sister, married to a prince is being abused. So she sets out to save her. She rounds up a group of people and a bone dog and they journey across to try and kill the king.

Mehso-so

I have a ton of holds out from the library so I had to finish this one early.

It took me a bit to believe their relationship and I don‘t think I actually agree. And I didn‘t realize she was only 20. They both have such an awful past (a lot darker than I usually like to read). But it‘s a romance so it ends happily ever after. And I‘ve never read a boxing romance before, so that was interesting.

Nessavamusic Bummer, I have a hard time with young characters in romance too. If they are young enough that I could be their parent I cringe. 😂 2y

This book matches twelve goddesses with the twelve signs of the zodiac. It's quite insightful. The stories of the goddesses are followed by rituals and meditations for each sign.

Ginette has had a breakdown and is now in a new place. And with few to no other distractions she starts neighbor watching. The whole thing is very Rear Window.

Bk10 of #JumpStart2023 is done! Probably the last book of this month too. It‘s really bk11 as I reread the audiobook of Dune while I was recovering over the weekend, but I thought reading it twice in a month was too much☺️Loved this just as much as the 1st time I read it, was crying at the end as well, must be feeling soft from feeling like shit. I honestly think this series is Maas‘ best so far, even outdoes ACOTAR for me. 5⭐️ #BookspinBingo👇

Read-y_Picker That‘s a bold statement..! I have this series sitting in my queue but I think I should finish ACOTAR first so as not to get mixed up. Thing is that the last one destroyed me, I feel like I need at least a decade before I can go back lol. 2y
TheSpineView I have this series on my TBR list. Great job! 2y

Clwojick Interesting! I‘m a total Sarah J Maas newbie, and just read the first 3 ACOTAR books. I‘ll have to give this a try after I finish that series. 2y

Nessavamusic Great job! I enjoyed that one two, the reviews of book two are very mixed but the ending packs a punch 2y
