That‘s another year in the books! (Hehehe) The shortest book is wrong. I listened to it on audio. I read 4 more books than in 2017, but had fewer pages by a smidge.

Completed Challenges:
#LitsyAtoZ -26/26
#Booked2018 - 24/24
#Nonfictionchallenge2018 - 14/12 - two more than last year

Incomplete Challenges:
#MountTBR - 20/25 - still pretty happy
Series Completed/Caught Up - 4/5
#YearofChunkster (over 500 pages) - 2

batsy That's an amazing amount of books! Well done 🎉📚🎉📚 6y

This audiobook felt like a conversation with two funny and inappropriate friends and I enjoyed it. There were a repetitive bits but overall just a fun listen. I‘m going to have to find a hard copy to see the photos included. #Booked2018 #newin2018 #nonfictionchallenge2018 #nonfiction

Cinfhen The cover is hilarious (edited) 6y
Bookzombie @Cinfhen I love the cover of the book, but this is actually a pic of them recreating the image on a puzzle they completed. They like to #audiopuzzle together. 🙂 6y

Let me begin by saying that I am fan of much of Carole King‘s music and would love to see the Broadway musical about her early life. However, I just didn‘t love this memoir. Her writing isn‘t bad, but I felt she included quite a bit of uninteresting information. I told my husband that it felt like the memoir that never ends. Also, this sounds awful, but it felt like she did a lot of name dropping. Maybe that is just how it came across on audio.

Bookzombie #nonfictionchallenge2018 - Examples of uninteresting things: lengthy description of mixing boards, how records are produced (not the music, but the vinyl itself), and possibly too much detail about the issue with the road on her land in Idaho. 6y
Crazeedi Maybe she should just stick to writing and singing great tunes! 😉 6y
Bookzombie @Crazeedi Maybe! 🙂 6y

Kunal is as lovable as Raj is on the show (I‘m 5 seasons behind so hopefully that hasn‘t changed). He relates stories from his life with heart and humor. I enjoyed hearing about the lessons his father taught him, his friendship with his college roommate, his romantic experiences, how he landed the role of a lifetime, and “My Big Fat Indian Wedding.” #Booked2018 #diversenonfiction #LitsyAtoZ #nonfictionchallenge2018

Book 1 of #24in48 - I found this book fascinating. It‘s not only about a series of possibly connected murders (and some that aren‘t connected), but also about how the United States was changing during the period of time covered. I enjoyed that it often felt like the authors were having a conversation with you about the case they were building. #nonfictionchallenge2018

This is a lovely little book to have on your coffee table. The biographies only give a brief summary about each woman, whose portrait and quote are on the opposite page. However, it‘s a great way to find people you want to know more about. I have already put a book on hold about Sophie Scholl and The White Rose group. #nonfictionchallenge2018

Crazeedi Such a lovely book! 6y

🎶It‘s just a little pissant country place, ain‘t nothing much to see🎶
My mom says that she took me with her to see The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas when it came out. I was three, lol. I don‘t remember seeing it then, but I love the movie and have been interested in the true story.
This is a well-researched account and I enjoyed it. I think if you only have a passing interest in the topic it might be a little dry. #nonfictionchallenge2018

Chrys I love this movie!! My mom and I sat and watched the video daily when she was recovering from a surgery when I was in junior high 6y
CAnne LOL! Today they might've turned your mother in. 6y
Bookzombie @Chrys it‘s such a fun movie! 6y

Just like The Lost City of Z, this book reinforced that I will never be a jungle explorer. I enjoyed this but it wasn‘t as enthralling as Z. I realize they might have never found the ruins without the help of technology we have today, but it made their exploration less exciting to me. I couldn‘t help but compare the two books. I still found much of this interesting though. #nonfictionchallenge2018 #Booked2018 #aboutenvironmentorsetoutdoors

Bookzombie Finished April 18th. 7y
Reggie I like the inclusion of the bug repellent and Off in the pic. Lol 7y
Bookzombie @Reggie Thanks! Lol. Bugs and I don‘t get along. They eat me alive. 7y

Mdargusch This book was definitely easier for me to get through than Z, however the mystery of what happened to the explorers in Z still haunts me. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage This one‘s in my list too! And I‘d never survive the jungle either. Great pick for the prompt! 7y
JSW “I will never be a jungle explorer.” 😂😂😂 Same. 7y
Cinfhen It‘s on my list too! I think I first stacked it after your review @Mdargusch 😃I agree, great choice for #booked2018 7y
Bookzombie @Mdargusch It still haunts me too. 7y
Bookzombie @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! I didn‘t realize it fit until I was finished. Lol. 7y

I really enjoyed this book. It was creepy and sucked me in. It was both fascinating and horrifying how many little things happened in the neighborhoods before the attacks and murders that were not reported until after the fact. I also felt sad as I read it knowing that Michelle was no longer alive to pursue this monster and write more for us in the future. #LitsyAtoZ #NonFictionChallenge2018

Finished April 5th.

Christine11 I thought it was great too! Like you say though it‘s really sad she won‘t be around to see him hopefully get caught 😔 7y
CAnne They caught him. He was arrested Tuesday in Sacramento. His name is Joseph James DeAngelo a 72 year old retired police officer and mechanic. 7y
Suet624 It‘s sad that Michelle wasn‘t alive to see that he was caught. 7y
Bookzombie @CAnne I know! David was not as interested as I was. Lol. @Suet624 I feel the same way. 7y
