This was awful and creepy and splendid and unique. A very worthy #litsyrc23 - freezer worthy horror.

If you are a genre fiction fan and haven't already done so, do check out the Twelve Planets series by Twelfth Planet Press : a series of books of mixed-length short fiction collections from Australian women SF/F/horror writers. Good for your indie publisher category too.

YA horror anthology with some genuine creepsters - a few even worming their way into my subconscious in delightfully eerie ways. Really enjoyed the riff on Alice in Wonderland by Carrie Ryan; also rec the Cat Winters, Leigh Bardugo, and Megan Shepherd stories. Overall solid compilation, though the YA-ness came across in the common reference points to recent pulpy movies, & the emphasis on ramifications and pay back. For reading challenges 👇

Maybe not freezer worthy but certainly scary enough that I didn't want to close my eyes in the shower. 😂 This was my first of Joe Hill's books and I'm hooked. Well done!

WendyL @jessica it's an app that lets you borrow ebooks, audio books and movies with your library card if your library supports it. Between the Cloud library and Hoopla, I can find almost anything I want. 8y

WendyL It's similar but my library stopped supporting Overdrive a while ago. I think they offer more options through Hoopla 8y

jessberk13 Almost all of Liane Moriarty's books are multiple perspectives. I'm also thinking Horrorstör for my horror read. If you haven't already, NOS4A2 is a very creepy read!

Bookzombie It doesn't specify age so maybe try a young adult or middle grade. I think Anna Dressed In Blood counts. So does R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike. Also Coraline. Or maybe something considered classic like Frankenstein or Dracula. 8y

drokka Anything by Robert McCammon would work for your not too scary horror. If you want a big book I recommend Swan Song, but my favourite is Wolf's Hour. If you'd rathe do short stories, Blue World would fit.

Megabooks No it really doesn't imo. I was worried initially too. It was my first horror book and I didn't find it very scary. More fun. 8y
