Rick Riordan is straight, but he‘s apparently written some really good gender fluid characters that normalise what some kids have no direct contact with, until they do. This should count, I‘d think. If an author is openly LGBTQ great, maybe they count twice or something, but outside of that rare situation 🤷🏼♀️.

It was a different kind of graphic novel. Can it be called a graphic novel if it‘s a short story collection?🤷🏽♀️It felt a bit disjointed, but maybe that‘s because I‘ve never read a short story collection in this format. I liked the stories, but like any short story, they left me questioning what happened next.😔I want to know more! A good quick read that‘s deeper than the words let on.

pickOh my, I couldn‘t stop reading it once I started and I usually don‘t read romance. I loved the diverse characters. It‘s about a Vietnamese country girl who just wants to make a better life for her family and an autistic Vietnamese-American guy who thinks he can‘t feel/experience emotions. They‘ve both been hurt emotionally, in different ways, so they both feel an aversion to relationships. Nevertheless they must live together for a whole summer.
