Melanie Benjamin can write. Her characters come alive and her atmosphere is superb. Unfortunately, I found her main characters to be wretched people and resented spending time with them.

9th book finished for #Read2025 and #JumpStart2025 @DieAReader @LizPixie
I was looking forward to this short audiobook but felt quite underwhelmed by it. Disappointing as I was looking forward to finding out much more about this remarkable woman. It had a nice creative lyrical style, but was lacking in depth and detail.
Growing up you only hear about Amelia Earhart as one of the first woman aviatrix because her story was so dramatic. This book includes all the other woman that paved women‘s way into the air and into jobs that were normally for men only. Interesting historical non-fiction read ☺️
Anne is a resilient saint, and Charles is a dirty, famous scumbag
Happy Thanksgiving, litsy peeps
Starting some historical fiction, which I haven't read in quite some time.
My usual trio: an audiobook, a middle grade book and a bedtime book (which happens to be my #doublespin and #authoramonth book!)
