Spent the morning birdwatching and reading this #bookspin book. Wow! This was a spectacular graphic novel. Chock-full of humor & heart, it tells the story of Lewis Hancox‘s journey to his true self. I loved it & all its Britishisms. 🇬🇧 #transbooks #transauthors #pridemonth #52bookclub23 #abookwithasubtitle

Heffington writes an easily accessible look at tbt history of women who, for a variety of reasons, do not have children. She looks at society‘s view of women who follow this path and really dives into the reasons - whether it‘s reproductive rights or political or even climate related.

As a woman who does not have children, I found myself nodding along to the perceptions from society. This was so good, and it made me feel like I am not alone…

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick You're not alone! I am also child-free by choice. A large part is that I know I have very little patience, even for my nieces. 1y

Cinfhen This does sound fascinating and interesting! My daughter & SIL have stated many times they don‘t think they want children and while that makes me sad, I can respect their decision. 1y
jenniferw88 Definitely NOT alone! Mine is due to health reasons - it's extremely unlikely I'll be able to have them as I don't produce enough of any hormone (I'm on a pill to control my stress hormone level, for example). 1y
JuniperWilde As stated above - you are not alone. It‘s good to have books to jumpstart the conversation. ♥️ 1y
Librarybelle I definitely make sure my fur babies get all of my love and treat them like my kids! 😂 @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Cinfhen @jenniferw88 @JuniperWilde Things would be different if I had a significant other, but I don‘t, so c‘est la vie. Thanks for listening! 1y
Meshell1313 Yes! Child free by choice! I‘ve read many similar books but added this one! Sounds great. If you‘re interested check out (edited) 1y

My #Bookspin book this month is Going Rogue, no 29 in the Stephanie Plum series but I realised I hadn‘t read no 28 yet so I settled down with that instead. Stephanie gets involved in a murderous entanglement between rival computer hackers, one of whom has plans that rival the schemes of the villains in superhero movies! It was a fun quick read, more enjoyable than many of the more recent books in the series.

Librarybelle I fell behind in this series…I think I‘ve missed reading the last two! 2y
LeeRHarry I‘m saving this one for Buzzwordathon later in the year for game related words. @Librarybelle I think that‘s where I‘m at too 😊 2y
Cinfhen I‘ve never read this author or series but I know it‘s beloved 2y
LaraReads My mom, cousin & I used to love this series! It‘s so fun! I think I fell off somewhere in the mid-teens. I should probably catch up again…someday 🤣 2y

This was a fascinating book by the author of Fifty Words for Snow, a book that I know many Littens have loved.

In 2010 Campbell gave up her job and spent the next 7 years in artist residences, all connected with ice and snow, including in #greenland. #readingtheamericas23

There‘s a lot of information & it‘s quite a dense read but a very rewarding look that explores many different cultural perspectives on ice and snow.

#bookspin brought this back to my radar after I had sort of despaired with it as the subject matter, though interesting, is a bit too dense for me. I managed to make it through with the help of the audio.
