We finished reading chapter 6 of @neildegrassetyson's ASTROPHYSICS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN A HURRY today, and we weren't going to skip an opportunity to make "The Universe as Hot Cocoa"! ☕? 68% dark energy (hot cocoa), 27% dark matter (whipped cream), and 5% regular matter (cinnamon).

Nonfiction November Week 3 is "Be the Expert" - If you find yourself pulling further left politically, or just want to learn more about leftism, I think you'll enjoy the titles shown here (and others mentioned in today's post). They all have clear, accessible writing styles and a hopeful tone. ❤?❤ https://lovelybookshelf.com/2020/11/books-for-leftists/

#NonficNov reading wrap-up! 📚 I fizzled out on the blogging and photo prompts for this event, but I read plenty. Finished these 9 books. If I had to pick a favorite, it's ALL THE REAL INDIANS DIED OFF. Dunbar-Ortiz tackles the most common myths and misconceptions about Native peoples, and does a fantastic job showing how those myths are perpetuated at every level of our society, why they're so harmful, and how we can correct that misinformation.

I think perhaps Francisco Cantu' has an interesting story to tell about why he chose to join the border patrol, and why he later chose to leave it. Unfortunately for me, this book wasn't it. It felt a bit like a rough draft - like an author just starting to organize his thoughts, waiting for an editor to help shape it into a cohesive narrative. I wish I could have read THAT book. Interesting moments, but it never came fully together. #nonficnov
