Do yall read the novellas or short stories from a series as well? I do or at least the ones I can find. Though most are just not as good for some reason.

The New Directions Storybook editions are a great way to sample authors that you have been meaning to try. This was the case for me with Ginzburg's Road to the City ( a 90 page novella in this edition). I was a bit sceptical at first as Ginzburg tends to move from character to character frequently. My Europa journey continues! This jumped into my cart when placing an order on Abe Books. Each story is about finding happiness is an unexpected way. While that may sound twee, it really wasn‘t as the stories are themselves not always happy. A fast and enjoyable read and I‘m loving Carousel of Desire by the same author up my TBR list! #europacollective

So this was 3 short stories of Eve Dallas and gang good for their length and I really enjoyed reading them 📖😊

All three of my favorite novellas are in one book - Different Seasons has Rita Hayworth (The Shawshank Redemption), The Body (Stand by Me) and The Apt Pupil in it. I am generally not a fan of short stories but this book was a 1982 standout. I wore it out and bought a used copy last summer to read them all again. Stephen King is synonymous with childhood and shaped the 6th grade reader in me.
