Much of this book is set in Tokyo‘s book district which sounds like a fascinating place, and it had an interesting cast of characters. It was a fairly quiet and enjoyable read, but I don‘t think it‘s one that will stick with me.

tpixie I agree. Today I was just thinking it‘s a nice, quiet read. Im tempted, because I‘m a “completist” , but I‘m not likely to read 2d
Graciouswarriorprincess I agree with you both @Daisey and @tpixie . I will probably read the second book. 20h

I finished this over the weekend, and then I almost forgot to review it. I found some parts interesting, but overall I‘m just ambivalent about the whole thing. I will be curious to see if our book club discussion gives me any greater appreciation for it.

Ruthiella I was underwhelmed too. Which made me sad, because I loved here debut 1mo
Daisey @Ruthiella Good to know, but unless I have a specific reason, I probably won‘t be picking up another of her books. 4w

What defines a Real American?
A multigenerational story told by 3 points of view. Looking at parent- child relationships, ethnic backgrounds vs citizenship, with a slight sci- fi twist.

This book was a fascinating read. There were times I was a bit confused by the different timelines, but I was always curious to know how they would come together. It has some wonderful descriptions, and I felt so much for these characters. We also had a great book club discussion about it.

I‘m loving the language in these pages and am thoroughly intrigued by how the separate stories are going to come together.

Just started listening to The History of Love for @LitsyBookClub & I know I‘m going to love it.
The first few lines are great.
Funny thing is, the narrator, George Guidall, narrated Stephen King‘s The Dark Tower series. So I keep thinking about Stephen King. And SK would write like this also!!

Daisey I hope to get into this one this weekend! 2mo

January 2025 #BookSpinBingo
Cold, snowy weather gave me lots of reading time! I completed several MG books for the Truman preliminary list as well as several other books. I think my favorite was our #LitsyBookClub pick The Book of Doors. I‘ve also continued our long #NoPlaceLikeHolmes read and started a couple new long reads for this year. I‘m thoroughly enjoying A Tree a Day for #NaturaLitsy.
