CHAOS
A Gamache murder investigation filled with confusion, disbelief and utter turmoil. Penny swerves the reader this way and that as Gamache finds clues in several very strange places.
The ending is surprising and sad until the reader realizes it is a cliffhanger!

I should have reread Grey Wolf before starting this one. Obviously, it is part of a long series, but it is a continuation of the international conspiracy introduced in that book. There were so many details I‘d forgotten. The plot does seem a bit convoluted, regardless. She set other books outside of Three Pines, but I never missed it in the same way I did this time. I will always read her next book in this series, but this one wasn‘t my favorite.

So good to be back with Chief Inspector Gamache!
(But does his world filled with sinister, hidden corruption in government HAVE to mirror ours so closely, Louise Penny? 😅 At least she lets him see the hope there, too.💗)

@dabbe - Thank you for my birthday giftcard! I used it to get Louise Penney's new book and I can't wait to start. Litsy friends are the best friends !♡♡♡

Look what I got!🌲🌲🌲

Attended this tonight- as usual, fantastic, thought provoking interview. Great audience questions as well. Much to mull over. My book will be in the mail tomorrow from B & N. Excited to journey again with Gamache soon! Book #20 in the series.

DYSFUNCTIONAL DEATH
A family that dislikes each other comes together for a reunion.
Gamache must sort all of this out when
a weird death occurs.
Find time to read and attempt to solve this mystery. Bet you can‘t!!
There was silence before Myrna spoke again. “Fucking Ruth.“
It struck Gamache that maybe that was Ruth's real name. It was certainly her given name. He considered the christening.
“What do you name this child?“ the minister asked.
“Fucking Ruth,“ her godparents replied. It would have been a prescient choice.
