1. This time of year, at least, it‘s sunrise.
2. Worst petsitting job (ever)*
* I set aside The Grey Wolf for now for reasons I‘ll describe in the comments.
#two4tuesday on Wednesday

Susanita Armand was describing a situation in which the PM could invoke the War Measures Act and give the federal government unlimited power, and that‘s too close to home now. I‘ll pick it back up later, but for now I‘ll go with light hearted mythological kids on a quest. 2d
TheSpineView 🧡🌅 Thanks for playing 2d
Bookwormjillk Were you on the Louise Penny/Hillary Clinton online conversation a few years ago when Hillary said she likes mysteries because the bad guys get caught in the end. I think of that often. (I‘m reading Grey Wolf now too.) 2d
Susanita @Bookwormjillk No, I missed that! I‘ve seen her a couple times in person, though, and I appreciate how passionate she is about the mystery genre. (edited) 2d

Mythical beings have been trapped in human form with their memories buried for years. An event frees their minds and bodies, but what kind of world does it create?

American Gods | Neil Gaiman
Pickpick

OK story but a bit rambling. I was not sure what to expect. Had not seen any of the series which is probably a bit different. Shadow is a man who is involved with several gods in America. For those who like Gaiman.

To start off it feels good to have Percy Jackson and the ground back together. But I think this series has one big problem, because the series is a prequel and we know what happens to series it kind of undercuts the entire series. I don‘t think this was entirely needed as I consider Percy‘s arc over as of house of hades. Aside from that this had a lot of classic Percy Jason moments. This was a good ready but won‘t be important overall

This sequel in a YA duology was so good! Loved the characters and the world building.

That was disappointing! It was dragging a lot, MC Jess is seriously missing a personality, and the overall setup didn't make much sense to me (why can't Jess find a job? What did she even study at Harvard? Why can't her father find a new job in the US if he has recovered, since he is described as a well-qualified professional?).
I fought my way through it, but what I liked most is the cover.😅

This week, my joy comes mostly from my cats.
💖Rambo enjoying the fireplace for the first time this fall.
💖Alice making biscuits in her cozy new bed
💖Two 8 week old kitten sisters that have joined us. No names so far, just nonstop energy.
💖Beautiful fall walks

Paladin's Grace | T. Kingfisher

Kingfisher‘s books are so fun to read—a paladin adrift after the death of the god he served, a perfumer running from her past, a spy who may be much more, a killer stalking the streets of the city, & oh yeah, an assassination attempt…lots going on in this one which is held together, as always, by witty banter (Kingfisher is great at dialog), pining, humor, noxious toadies, & the good guys/girls doing good things. The first in a series. Fun read.

Rarely do I grab a book to read over and over. The exception is the fantastical-witty-inventive-disquieting #TheLibraryatMountChar. It‘s not quite horror, more surreal. Characters, motivations, and little details further plot and enjoyment. 100% recommend. Absolute treasure of a novel. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📖 to read.
